Zoo Knoxville: BOO! at the Zoo

BOO! at the Zoo presented by U.S. Cellular® is Knoxville’s largest Halloween event featuring several nights of not-too-scary Halloween fun perfect for preschool and elementary-aged children. A Halloween tradition for 32 years, BOO! at the Zoo is a family event featuring trick-or-treating along the BOO! Trail, where little trick-or-treaters can fill their bag with goodies as they make their way through the zoo. Each night of BOO! at the Zoo will have a variety of entertainment.

New This Year! We are offering combo ticket good for general zoo admission AND BOO! admission for $25.95 for ages 4 and up. Please note these tickets are available only on Saturdays.

Zoo Knoxville: BOO at the ZOO Bedtime with the Beasts!

Bring your group to Boo at the Zoo and spend the night, too! Schedule a special night by getting VIP entry into Boo at the Zoo and then afterwards have an overnight educational adventure, exploring the zoo with our guides. Boo at the Zoo Bedtime programs include admission to Boo at the Zoo, educational activities and tours of the zoo, encounters with our animal ambassadors, a private keeper chat, breakfast, and admission to the zoo the next morning.

Offered by reservation only. For ages 6 and up.
Available only October 11th – 14th, 18th – 21st and 25th – 28th.

Tennessee Theatre: 90 Year Milestone Celebration

Birthday honorees and guests will sit on the stage of the beautiful Tennessee Theatre for a catered lunch to share memories of the Tennessee Theatre and downtown Knoxville in the early years of the Theatre and hear a few songs from the Mighty Wurlitzer organ. Knoxville Gay Men’s Chorus: National Coming Out Day Concert

Every year on National Coming Out Day, we celebrate coming out as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ) or as an ally. Oct. 11, 2018, will mark the 30th anniversary of National Coming Out Day.

Nearly 30 years ago, on the anniversary of the National March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights, we first observed National Coming Out Day as a reminder that one of our most basic tools is the power of coming out.

Join the Knoxville Gay Men’s Chorus as we honor National Coming Out Day! KGMC will also be featuring guest artists April Hill, Daniel Johnson, and the Accidentals.

East Tennessee PBS: 2nd Annual Veteran Honor Dinner

This October, East Tennessee PBS will host the 2nd Annual Veteran Honor Dinner to celebrate the area men and women who have bravely served our country in all branches of our armed forces. The event is being sponsored by Pilot/Flying J and Food City. The dinner will be held at Bridgewater Event Center, on October 11, 2018, from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. Tickets are available online at

This special evening brings together the servicemen and women who have given so much for our freedom, as well as members of our community who wish to recognize and honor their bravery and sacrifice.

Tickets are $100 and cover the cost of each attendee as well as sponsorship for a veteran to attend at no cost. A portion of each ticket sold also goes to Wreaths Across America to ensure that every grave at Knox County Veterans Cemeteries are honored with a wreath during the holiday season.

In addition to great fellowship, attendees of the dinner will have an opportunity to meet area veterans, community leaders and view new mini-documentaries feature some area programs helping veterans transition back into civilian life.

Guests include Mayors Madeline Rogero and Glenn Jacobs, as well as other local elected officials and military leaders. An announcement will also be made about a special post 9/11 Veterans Memorial that is coming to our region.

AIGA Knoxville: October’s Drink + Draw

Join us October 11th for our October Drink + Draw event where we meet up, hang out, and draw while sipping on a beer or soda! This month's event will be held at the Central Filling Station food truck park so there will be plenty to eat and enjoy. The current scheduled truck lineup for dinner is: Hawg Dawgs, The Crave, Meatball Madness & More, Kazoku Hibachi and Flourish Flower Truck will be there as well! We hope to see you there!

Kids In The Arts Fall Camp

We offer a kids camp, usually a week long, typically for ages 5-12. We tailor the lessons to multiple ages by working together in whole-group instruction or by splitting up into smaller groups to maximize learning. We spend the day together creating art through various art forms like music, improv games, visual art and dance. We meet-up at the end of the day and share our experiences in a cool down meditative share time. Our mission is to promote cooperation and the love of learning through art, craft and creativity! Through exploration of self we will find common ground in each other.

Appalachian Arts Craft Center: Fall Porch Sale

The Appalachian Arts Craft Center in Norris will hold its Fall Porch Sale starting on Friday, October 5, and continuing for about two weeks. The Porch Sale, held each spring features outdated stock, seconds, student crafts, and nonjuried work by members of the Craft Center. It’s an excellent time to get great deals.

The Appalachian Arts Craft Center is a nonprofit center with a mission to support arts and crafts in Appalachia through education, sales, and community involvement. The center is located at 2716 Andersonville Highway 61, Clinton, TN, one mile east of I-75 north at Exit 122.
