Category: Kids & family and Theatre
The play will be performed Thursdays at 7 PM, Fridays at 7 PM, Saturdays at 1 PM and 5 PM, and Sundays at 3 PM. https://knoxvillechildrenstheatre.com/tc-events/the-snow-queen/
Snow Queen is adapted from the original famous story by Hans Christian Andersen. This is the story of Gerda, a little girl who searches for her friend Kay when she is bewitched and imprisoned by the Snow Queen in her ice palace. Gerda's innocence charms all good people and animals she meets on the way. With their help, Gerda travels to the Far North and confronts the Snow Queen in her ice palace in a struggle to save Kay’s life.
KCT Alumna Ashlee Latimer will direct the production.

Blue Heron Art Collective: Classes for Kids
Category: Classes & workshops, Exhibitions & visual art and Kids & family
Online, live, interactive classes featuring how-to videos with art teachers Karen Bertollini and Betsy Hobkirk.
WHAT’S HAPPENING IN JANUARY? Save your cardboard for this GREAT Session! It’s all about recycling, constructing and ART! Hang on to cardboard boxes such as packaging, food boxes, any sort of roll, and cardboard egg cartons to prepare for this class.
One of the most important elements of our Sessions is our How-To videos. Our students can watch these videos at their own pace during the 3-week session. Our videos are intended to guide creative thought, rather than show specific step by step instruction. As educators, it is important to us that students create their OWN art, rather than what we think they should do. Our philosophy is to teach for artistic behavior, referred to as CHOICE.
Safe art tool usage is very important to us as well. When needed, we include age appropriate safety videos. Learn more at www.artblueheron.com or artblueheron@gmail.com

The students will participate in writing workshops with Knoxville Poet Laureate Rhea Carmon as well as many other amazing poets from across the nation. The program will begin as an online program meeting twice a month via Zoom. Youth need to submit an already written poem as a part of their application as well as well thought out answers to the questions.
