Theatre Knoxville Downtown: Auditions for Christmas Belles

By Jones, Hope & Wooten and directed by Donnie Thomas. Audition times are Sunday, September 27, 6:00-8:00 PM and Monday, September 28, 6:30-8:30 PM. Available roles: 7 women and 4 men, ages 20ish-60ish. Please bring a headshot or recent photo if possible. Resumes are helpful but not required. No prepared monologue is needed; auditions will be cold readings from the script. Auditions are held at the theatre at 319 N. Gay Street. Townsend and his wife (Margaret) for which the girl scout camp was named in Townsend; Laura Thornburgh (1885-1973) - who wrote a notable book on the Smokies; and David Chapman - his obit called Chapman "the father of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park".

Knoxville Botanical Garden: Erin McKeown Live in Concert

From elegant pop to rock, sweet electronics to witty swing, McKeown has packed a ton of music into a substantial career. With six albums, two EPs, and numerous soundtracks and compilations to her credit, the 31-year-old artist hasn't stopped for a breather in the last ten years. Along the way, she has averaged 200 shows per year and has garnered the praise of fans and critics alike. This fall, McKeown will release a new full-length album, Hundreds of Lions, which will continue in her unique tradition of fresh and unusual music. Event attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, picnics, and wine to the concert. Additionally, concessions will be available for purchase at the event. A limited number of VIP packages, which include a pre-show hors d'oeuvres and wine reception, meet & greet with the artist, and premium seating areas, are also available. UT Downtown Gallery: Beyond Surface

An invitational ceramics exhibition featuring the work of eight nationally-celebrated ceramicists. Please join us for a First Friday Reception October 2 from 5-9pm. The exhibition includes works by Pennsylvania artist Adelaide Paul who will be present at the reception, North Carolina artist and UT Alumus Michael Kline, Bonnie Seeman from Florida, and Georgia artists: Ron Meyers, Ted Saupe, Sunkoo Yuh, Andy Nasisse and Lauren Gallaspy.
