Pellissippi State: Motivational series

From local talk radio host Hallerin Hilton Hill to “Hoola-Hoop Leadership†author and San Francisco resident Ron Hickey, the speakers slated for the “Living Life Beyond Limits†series at Pellissippi State Community College’s Magnolia Avenue Campus promise to bring interactive motivational discussions to the community. Pellissippi State and the Heart of Knoxville Career and Resource Center, located at the Magnolia Avenue Campus, will host four seminars designed to motivate attendees. All sessions are free and open to the public. In the “Living Life Beyond Limits†series, attendees have the opportunity to listen to presentations by experienced motivational speakers. They also have a chance to engage with the speakers in question-and-answer sessions. The seminars are meant to be highly interactive. The “Living Life Beyond Limits†series includes the following sessions:
· February 15—“Who’s Holding Your Ladder?â€
Presenter: Terry Schofield, Heart of Knoxville career specialist and co-author of “The Measures of a Complete Lifeâ€
· February 22—“The Hoola-Hoop Paradigmâ€
Presenter: Ron Hickey, author of “The Hoola-Hoop Leadership Paradigm†and co-author of “The Measures of a Complete Lifeâ€
· March 1—Living Above the Belowâ€
Presenter: Alvin Nance, president and CEO of Knoxville’s Community Development Corporation
· March 15—“Who Are You?â€
Presenter: Hallerin Hilton Hill, host of “The Hallerin Hilton Hill Morning Show,†News Talk 98.7 radio

Knoxville Museum of Art: Peter Sarkisian: Video Works, 1996-2008

Sarkisian explores the spatial and perspective possibilities of video, film, and sculpture through multi-media works that challenge perceptions of reality and illusion. This retrospective exhibition features signature works and conveys how the artist has considered and resolved various approaches to integrating video into temporal and spatial experiences.

East Tennessee Historical Society: Roads I’ve Traveled: The Life’s Work of Jim Gray

For almost five decades, Jim Gray has painted in the shadow of the Great Smoky Mountains, creating a body of work that captures, according to the artist, "the ever changing pattern of light and shadow [that moves] across the ancient faces of the Smokies." The retrospective exhibition, Roads I've Traveled, showcases these East Tennessee-inspired landscapes, as well as additional selections from Gray's life's work, including wildlife, floral, and marine paintings and assorted sculptures in bronze.
