Friday Night at The Concourse: Hurricane Ruth
Category: Culinary arts, food and Music
Presented by Bluegill Productions - Friday nights include
July 22 - Hurricane Ruth
Hurricane Ruth LaMaster is a vocal powerhouse with a style all her own, blending the blues with rock and soul. Hurricane Ruth earned her name because no one believed that such a large sound could come out of such a small woman! She is old school, real and raw. Her vocals are deeply rooted in the blues, but make no mistake she can rock the house! She is cut from the same cloth as Big Mama Thornton, Janis Joplin, and Tina Turner. A captivating performer, Hurricane Ruth will grab your attention from note one and never let you go.
Ruth has performed with John Lee Hooker, B.B. King, Willie Dixon, Taj Mahal, Ramsey Lewis Trio, Sam & Dave, Fenton Robinson, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Ronnie Baker Brooks, Bruce Katz, Mike Zito, and more.
The great Willie Dixon once told Ruth "You're the only hurricane I can appreciate."
