by Matthew Barber. You're going to fall in love all over again when you see this funny, romantic and heart-warming Broadway hit that charmed the New York critics, winning the Outer Critics Circle Playwrighting award and a Tony nomination for best play.

We travel to Italy—land of love, hope, enchantment and rejuvenation. In this romantic journey, two lonely married women rent an Italian villa for a month. They share the rent with a crusty Englishwoman and a lonely aristocrat. What could be better than sun, rest and relaxation? When the men in their lives make a surprise visit, their relaxing vacation turns into an unexpected amore!

A1LabArts and Big Ears Productions presents a concert series of innovative composers and sound artists. All concerts will be in the ArtSpace of A1LabArts, located in the Fireproof Building at 201 Randolph and Magnolia. These evenings, billed as a "True 21st Century Music Series" will cover distinctive genres which have arisen since the atomic expansion of abstract art in the 1950's. Shock value and "difficult music" are tired cliches; nuanced forms have evolved, influencing movie scores, pop stars, and children's toys. Each evening concert will focus on one nuanced genre, including Laptop, Musique Concrete, Vintage Analog, Ambient, Acoustic, and Net-based.

Featuring the works of Knoxville photographer and this year's Dogwood Art Festival Print Competition winner, Phil Savage. To celebrate "First Friday" on April 3, the Museum will stay open from 3-9 p.m. with free admission to all exhibits including the Downtown Knoxville, a New Perspective exhibition and the ETHS signature exhibition Voices of the Land: The People of East Tennessee. Phil Savage, a local gymnastics coach, has been taking pictures since he was a teenager. Interestingly enough, the Dogwood Art Festival print competition was the first art contest Savage had entered. His photograph "Woodruff's on Gay Street, Knoxville, TN" was selected by the public from hundreds of artwork pieces to become the official Dogwood Arts Festival's 2009 Limited Edition Fine Art Print. The photograph is a digitally colored and edited panoramic image of the Woodruff building on Gay Street, taken early one Sunday morning in downtown Knoxville. Prints of the winning photograph will be available for purchase throughout the duration of the show at the East Tennessee History Center. Phil Savage will be available for signing of the limited edition prints at the History Center from noon to 5 p.m. on April 17 and 18.

Category: Exhibitions, visual art

An exhibit showcasing Dagnan's oil and watercolor landscape paintings will be on display at the Farragut Town Hall through Thursday, April 30, 2009. An East Tennessee native, Dagnan has been drawing and painting since childhood. His inspiration comes from the rural landscapes of this area. "Most of my paintings are of the mountains, hills, lakes and structures of this area," said Dagnan. "I enjoy the changing light and colors that come from the distinctly different seasons of Tennessee." A University of Tennessee (UT) graduate, Dagan is retired from the UT Institute of Agriculture where he was employed as an artist for 37 years. He now devotes full time to painting oils and watercolors. He began exhibiting his work in 1970, has held seven one-man art shows and has participated in numerous national, state and regional art shows. His paintings are represented in many private and public collections throughout the United States. Dagnan is represented locally by the Art Market Gallery and Frame Smart Gallery; visit http://web.mac.com/garydagnanart for more information.
