  • December 3, 2009
  • 7:00 PM

Category: Literature, spoken word, writing

With the spirit of the holidays prevailing, the Knoxville Writers’ Guild will be enlivened by many a literary and culinary contribution at its meeting. The gathering will find the Guild staging an open mike reading, as it holds its Annual Holiday Potluck. Poetry, prose and fine food will no doubt be abounding at what promises to be a most festive occasion. The meeting, which will be open to the public, will be held at the Laurel Theater, at the corner of Laurel Avenue and 16th Street (in Fort Sanders). Admission is free, but a $1 donation (at the door) would be gratefully accepted. The building is handicapped accessible. If possible, please bring a holiday dish to share.

While all partake in various epicurean delights, Writers’ Guild members will be spotlighted in the open mike reading. The Guild had been conducting this type of reading annually, in July – but the one this summer had proven to be such a resounding success, resulting in another being scheduled for this holiday meeting. Those participating in December will be finding themselves at the mike, reading something for everyone in attendance to enjoy. For more information, contact:
