Arts & Culture Alliance: National Juried Exhibition of 2011

The Arts & Culture Alliance is pleased to present its National Juried Exhibition of 2011, a new exhibition featuring selected works from 38 artists in the Southeast and Midwest . The National Juried Exhibition was developed in 2006 to provide a forum for local artists to compete on a national scale and display their highest quality work. The exhibition features both traditional and non-traditional work and will be displayed at the Emporium Center Gallery from December 2, 2011 - January 27, 2012. A public reception will take place on Friday, December 2, from 5:00-9:00 PM with a brief awards ceremony at 6:00 PM in which $1,000 in cash awards will be announced.

The reception on Friday, December 2, is free and open to the public, and complimentary hors d’oeuvres will be served. The National Juried Exhibition of 2011 is on display December 2, 2011 - January 27, 2012 at the Emporium Center , 100 S. Gay Street , downtown Knoxville . Exhibition hours are Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM with additional hours on Saturdays, December 3 and January 7, 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Please note that the Emporium will be closed December 22 – January 1. ART MARKET GALLERY DECEMBER FEATURED ARTIST EXHIBIT AND RECEPTION

December 1-31, Art Market Gallery of Knoxville is pleased to present an exhibit of recent works by Harriet Howell of Rutledge and Kathy Holland of Oak Ridge.

Harriet Howell, who holds a BFA from UT's College of Art is an accomplished pastel and watermedia painter who will be exhibiting a collection of her painted silk scarves. Her painting, whether on paper or silk, uses color and movement to capture the emotional content of the landscape.

Kathy Holland, who holds a BFA in painting and printmaking from Virginia Commonwealth University, will be exhibiting a collection of her oil paintings and colored pencil drawings. She has participated in multiple juried, national, international exhibitions, and solo shows, and her work can be found in collections in the US, Canada, New Zealand and Uruguay.

A First Friday Reception for the exhibit is planned for December 2 from 5:30-9 pm with complimentary refreshments and live music.

Member owned and operated by over 60 regional artists, Art Market Gallery is located at 422 South Gay Street in Knoxville next to the Downtown Grill & Brewery.
