Mabry-Hazen: Annual Christmas Tours

The Mabry-Hazen Hose invites you to join us for our annual Christmas Tours. Rooms and other areas will be decorated by local groups including: The Flower Pot, Samuel Franklin, Scott Morrell of Flowers, as well as the volunteers and museum staff. The event is free of charge and light refreshments will be served. Tour times are as follows: December 10th from 5-8pm, and December 11th from 2-5 pm.

The three-time Grammy Award winning artist Delbert McClinton has not changed his musical formula, but he’s subtly enhanced the flavors on his thirteenth studio album Acquired Taste. The reflective lyrics provide one of the wisest and most introspective albums of the Texas roots music legend’s musical career. The new record, available August 18th from New West Records, was produced by Grammy Award winning producer Don Was (Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Bonnie Raitt).

ETHS Holiday Open House

Cookies and apple cider will warm the day at the East Tennessee Historical Society's Holiday Open House. Activities include live musical performances by a barber shop quartet, quilting and needlework demonstrations, ornament and craft making for the kids, cookies and hot cider, and Christmas stories from the Civil War. In addition, visitors are invited to browse the Museum Store for a great selection of traditional gifts, history books, and children's items.

Visitors are also invited to tour the new feature exhibition Lincoln: The Constitution and the Civil War, as well as the permanent exhibition Voices of the Land. All events are free and open to the public.
