Another busy week in the books for KAFCC! Starting out the week we had Printmaking: Pet Portrait Edition...it may have been a small class, but we made up for lack of numbers with lots more fun! Amanda taught a fun and easy way of printmaking using tracing & cutting techniques. We ended up with lovely portraits of Lukie Skywalker the cat & Poppie the dog! Homeschoolers learned all about the ancient technique of paper quilling this week. Students used different quilling methods to make a colorful fall tree. In the Intermediate Wheel Topics class: Cream & Sugar, the participants are starting to decorate their sets using a carving technique called Sgraffito. We are excited to see their final sets! KAFCC had a brand-new class Monday night with Origami Quilts. Participants learned how to fold and interlock paper squares that they fit into a quilt pattern and then framed. We were all jealous of their professional looking frames at the end of class! Thanksgiving is just next week so that means...PIE! The After-school Art kiddos & the Dynamic Recreation group made a Thanksgiving Pie Garland to hang up for decoration. Pumpkin, Apple, Cherry & Blueberry were the favorites! And lastly, Preschool classes are back!! They read the book, "How the Crayons Saved the Rainbow" and learned how to mix color and paint stripes! They got messy and had fun doing it!!
