The Knoxville Zoo: Zoofari/The year of the tiger

Guests enjoy cocktails, a silent auction, seated dinner, wild music, and a unique-to-the-zoo live auction. Zoofari proceeds support research, conservation of endangered animals, educational programming. Zoofari also provides care, enrichment and food for more than 800 animals living at Knoxville Zoo and this year's proceeds will also support conservation of the African lion with a breeding program that will bring lion cubs to Knoxville for the first time in over five years.

A 35 mm print of the Clarence Brown directed silent movie A Woman of Affairs , released in 1928 and starring Greta Garbo, John Gilbert, Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. and Lewis Stone will be shown with Wurlitzer organ accompaniment by the talented and well known theatre organist Ron Carter from Marietta, GA. The movie was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Writing.

This is the third in the series of four Clarence Brown directed silent movies being shown at the Historic Tennessee Theatre.

Museum of Appalachia: “Farm to Table: Gardens in Old Appalachia”

The Museum garden will provide a living demonstration of vegetables typically grown in pioneer Appalachia.
In a real‐life demonstration of “farm to table,” the Museum restaurant will feature garden vegetables on the daily menu.
Visitors will receive an educational brochure highlighting farm implements
throughout the Museum. Signs will highlight cider presses, corn grinders,
an M‐30 tractor, farm wagons, butter churns, plows, harrows and rakes, scythes, an
“underground dairy” or root cellar, bee hive, cantilever barn, and numerous other agriculture‐related artifacts and structures throughout the Museum.

Knoxville Zoo: Close Encounters of the Wild Kind

Allowing guests to meet some of the zoo's favorite animals. Go behind-the-scenes to meet rhinos, giraffes, penguins, or tortoises. Have the opportunity to feed or even touch the animal. You'll also get to meet the animal's keeper and take a souvenir photo of you and your new friend! 10 person limit per session; $20 per person.
