Category: Music and Theatre

Travis LeDoyt has been called “the best young Elvis in the world,” and there are four good reasons why; 1) he looks like Elvis; 2) he sings like Elvis; 3) he moves like Elvis; and 4) his personality and mannerisms both on and off stage are strikingly similar to Elvis. Utilizing an authentic three-piece band featuring guitar, bass, and drums, Travis takes his audience back to a genuine 1950s concert. For those who missed an Elvis concert during those years, it is a chance to relive the excitement and aura of Elvis and the 50s. He has been selected as the opening act for such legends as Little Richard, Johnny Rivers, B. B. King, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bill Haley's Original Comets and others. He is the only tribute artist ever invited to perform at Elvis Presley Days, a Graceland sanctioned event in Tupelo, MS the birthplace of Presley.

Tickets are $10-$25

Fountain City Arts Center: "Try This" Fundraiser

Category: Fundraisers

Would you say “No!” if 20 or more of the best cooks you know offered to feed
you and your friends and family a sumptuous meal in congenial surroundings with
the beautiful notes of guitar music gently wafting over you, all for just $10 per person?
Of course you wouldn’t!!! It follows, then, that you should mark your calendars
NOW for 3 PM – 5 PM, Saturday, January 25, 2014 for our tasting party, “Try This!”

Last year, we were pleasantly surprised by the attendance at the tasting party and
by the high praise for the event. Some people said it was their favorite Art Center event to date!
We had four or five soups, a dozen or more casseroles, desserts, breads, salads, everything your little hearts could desire and more! Recipes from our first cookbook provided the menu and volunteers did the cooking. This year’s recipe book will be used for the party’s tasting menu. We have about 40 copies of the FCAC Recipe Book Volume II if you would like to purchase one. Cookbook sales and the tasting party proceeds will really help us get through the winter months’ high cost of heating. Andy LeGrand Music Studio associates will play guitar for us like last year.

Admission is $10 per person at the door beginning at 3 PM, Saturday, January 25 at the Fountain City Art Center. The Center is located at 213 Hotel Avenue just before Fountain City Park heading north and across the street from Fountain City Methodist Church. We can be reached at (865)357-2787, fcartcenter@knology.net.
