Market Square Holiday Market
Local vendors will line Union and Market with farm-raised holiday decor, baked goods, artisan foods, crafts, and more for Market Square Holiday Market. Enjoy hot beverages and food from local food trucks while you shop for holiday gifts and decor.
Our Farmers’ Market will happen from 11 am – 2 pm in Market Square. Shop for locally grown produce, honey, eggs, dairy, meats, herbs, plants, and more – all grown within 150 miles of Knoxville! Farms will be set up near the stage on Market Square.

Berry, Gary Dagnan, Connie Gaertner, Kathie Odom, and Joe Parrott, My Knoxville: Interpretations of Home is a personal and compelling collection of landscapes, memories, and city scenes dedicated to the place we’re proud to call home.

Broadway Studios and Gallery: 2nd Annual Gaudy Gold Frame Show

Featuring a variety of 2-dimensional artwork that fits within the confines of a gold frame and 3-dimensional work with gold in the piece. A special award will be given for the gaudiest gold frame of all. Entry fee is $5 per piece with a maximum of three pieces.
Opening reception will be held 5-9ish PM, Friday December 2. (First Friday). Cash awards will be presented at 7:00pm.

UT Downtown Gallery: Drawn But Not Forgotten

The UT Downtown Gallery is pleased to present a selection of sketches and lithographs from the Ewing Gallery Permanent Collection. On display are working and finished sketches and print portfolios from four illustrators working during the “Golden Age” of illustration, Harrison Cady, Norman Rockwell, F.R. Gruger, and Walter Haskell Hinton. The four men whose works are in the gallery, worked tirelessly drafting ad campaigns, illustrating children’s books, comic strips, and covers for weekly publications, such as The Saturday Evening Post. The Ewing Gallery is fortunate to have acquired many of these works through generous gifts to the gallery. We hope you enjoy this opportunity to see the works of these four illustrators from the Ewing Collection exhibited together for the first time.
Reception is December 2 from 5-9PM and is free and open to the public.

Knoxville Children's Theatre: Godspell, Jr: The Musical

A version of the hit Broadway musical, specially adapted for children and families. The original Godspell was the first major musical theatre offering from three-time Grammy and Academy Award-winner, Stephen Schwartz, and it took the world by storm. Boasting a score with chart topping songs, Godspell JR. is a sensation that continues to touch audiences.
A group of disciples help Jesus Christ tell different parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques and a hefty dose of comic timing. An eclectic blend of songs, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, is employed as the story of Jesus' life dances across the stage. Dissolving hauntingly into the Last Supper and the Crucifixion, Jesus' messages of kindness, tolerance and love come vibrantly to life.

Encore Theatrical Company of Morristown: Mary Poppins
The world’s favorite nanny flies into Morristown this holiday season as Encore Theatrical Company completes the 10th anniversary season with “Mary Poppins” December 2-18. This magical musical is practically perfect for families and all ages. Based on the books by P.L. Travers and the classic Walt Disney film, Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's “Mary Poppins" delighted Broadway audiences for over 2,500 performances.
Young Jane and Michael Banks have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family how to value each other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren't the only ones she has a profound effect upon. The ensemble is made up of a talented mix of actors, singers and dancers from all over the region. The production is directed by Micah-Shane Brewer, music directed by Laura Ritter, choreographed by Kody Storm Rowe, and stage managed by Amy Webb.
“Mary Poppins” will perform for three weekends with evening performances on December 2, 3, 9, 10, 16 and 17 at 8:00 p.m. and matinee performances on December 4, 11, 17 and 18 at 2:00 p.m. Performances will be held in the William H. Zoo Knoxville: Buy One Get One Free Admission

Zoo Knoxville is offering “Buy One, Get One Free” admission tickets during Kroger BOGO Days, December 1 through February 28, 2017.
During Kroger BOGO Days, the zoo encourages guests to discover why this is the perfect time to see animals, including red pandas, river otters, elephants, gorillas, red wolves, lions and tigers, actively enjoying the cooler weather. On days when the temperature drops below 40 degrees, some animals will be moved indoors, but visitors can still see many animals in their indoor viewing areas. The Pilot Flying J Wee Play Adventure is a popular indoor play area that’s an entertaining stop for creative play during winter visits as well.

Knoxville Museum of Art: East TN Regional Student Art Exhibition

Students, family, friends, and the public are invited to a reception and awards ceremony Tuesday, December 6, 6-8 PM. The event is free and open to the public.
The Knoxville Museum of Art and the Tennessee Art Education Association celebrates the 11th anniversary of the East Tennessee Regional Student Art Exhibition Friday. The exhibition offers middle and high school students from around East Tennessee the opportunity to participate in a juried exhibition and to display their talents and be honored for their accomplishments in a professional art museum environment. The East Tennessee Regional Student Art Exhibition is open to students in grades 6-12, attending public, private, or home schools in 32 counties across East Tennessee. Since 2005, the East Tennessee Regional Student Art Exhibition has presented the work of nearly 3,000 students who have competed for a total of $7 million in scholarships made available to eligible juniors and seniors by colleges and universities from around the nation.

Clarence Brown Theatre: A Christmas Carol

With a brand new look, stunning costumes, traditional carols, an adaptation guaranteed to enrich your holiday season, PLUS $10 tickets for children 5 to 12, “A Christmas Carol,” returns to the Clarence Brown mainstage. A Pay What You Wish Preview performance, where patrons can name their own price, will be held Wednesday, November 23 from Noon to 7 pm at the theatre. A Talk Back with the actors will take place Sunday, December 4 following the matinee. Deaf Night @ the Theatre, where all patron interactions including the performance is interpreted in American Sign Language, will take place Sunday, December 4 at 7:30 pm. On Tuesday, December 6 at the CBT Family Feast, families can attend dinner at 6:00 pm and then see the show for only $10. The Open Captioned performance is Sunday, December 11 at 2:00 pm.
