Broadway at the Tennessee Theatre: Summer: The Donna Summer Musical
Summer: The Donna Summer Musical - April 8-10 (5 performances)
She was a girl from Boston with a voice from heaven, who shot through the stars from gospel choir to dance floor diva. But what the world didn’t know was how Donna Summer risked it all to break through barriers, becoming the icon of an era and the inspiration for every music diva who followed. With a score featuring more than 20 of Summer’s classic hits including “Love to Love You Baby,” “Bad Girls” and “Hot Stuff,” this electric experience is a moving tribute to the voice of a generation.

We will have annuals, including a number of different heat- and drought-tolerant cuphea; tropicals, with several unique cultivars offered; shrubs, featuring Perfecto Mundo azaleas; a wonderful selection of clematis vines; choice conifers for year-round interest; trees, including a new weeping redbud and the Sunsphere dogwood. Included also will be seasonal vegetable plants, small fruits, and houseplants, which are all the rage right now, including unique kokedama, terrariums, and potted plants. Our featured plant will be the Fairytrail Bride® Cascade Hydrangea. Our own Jason Reeves, horticulturist at UT Gardens, Jackson, sang the praises of this breeding breakthrough in a recent article in Fine Gardening magazine:
"Fairytrail Bride® is the first hydrangea with the ability to produce flowers from every leaf joint, and it has a unique trailing habit to boot. White lacecap blossoms appear down the graceful trailing stems like garlands of lace in late spring to early summer. The flowers start out as green buds that open to pure white."
If cabin fever has done a number on you this winter, get out and join us April 8-9 for a spectacular good time!

We're going to swing into spring with Knoxville’s premier swing band. This 17-member band was originally formed as a smaller band over 20 years ago by bassist Mischa Goldman and trumpeters Michael Spirko and Thomas Heflin before it blossomed into the fabulous big band that they are today. With Spirko sharing vocals with the lovely and talented Kayley Burton Farmer, The Streamliners play the classics of Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald, and Peggy Lee, with some Louis Jordan and Louis Prima mixed in for extra fun. A big dance floor in front of the stage will be waiting for you, so don't forget to bring your dancing shoes!
