Theatre Knoxville Downtown: Rope
Category: Theatre
Thu-Sat 8 PM, Sun 3 PM
by Patrick Hamilton
Director: Dennis Hart
For the mere sake of adventure, danger, and the “fun of the thing,” Wyndham Brandon persuades his weak minded friend, Charles Granillo, to assist him in the murder of a fellow undergraduate, a perfectly harmless man named Ronald Raglan. They place the body in a wooden chest, and to add spice to their handiwork, invite a few acquaintances, including the dead youth’s father, to a party, the chest with its gruesome contents serving as a supper table. The horror and tension are worked up gradually; thunder grows outside, the guests leave, and we see the reactions of the two murderers, watched closely by the suspecting lame poet, Rupert Cadell. Finally they break down under the strain and confess their guilt.

Knoxville Children's Theatre: Snow White
Category: Kids, family and Theatre
The play will be performed Thursdays and Fridays at 7 PM, Saturdays at 1 PM and 5 PM, and Sundays at 3 PM.
Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who is the fairest of them all? Well, we all know the reply to that, and soon we’re caught up in the spell of this enchanting classic. The vain and wicked Queen seeks to destroy her rival in beauty. The Dwarfs are obstinate, generous, mean, kind, and totally appealing. The Prince is a true Prince, sometimes foolish, always brave, and Snow White is as lovely and lovable as legend says.
The play is performed by 14 talented young actors, from ages 9 to 15. Snow White will be played by KCT veteran Macy Moon with the Prince portrayed by Patrick Harrison. They will be joined by KCT veteran Elliot Hager who will play the witch and Lily Segars who portrays The Mirror. Olivia Birkbeck will play the princess.
The show is directed by Guest Director Chris McCreary.

We couldn't BEE happier to announce the 2022 Art in the Garden exhibit - All the Buzz: A Bee Exhibit! Actually, make that exhibits - because for the first time we have added a program specifically for young artists. Forty local teen/adult artists have interpreted this year's theme, and 45 local kids have joined in on the fun, too! The children's art pieces will be on display in the Children's Garden, the adult pieces will be on display throughout the Gardens.
The opening reception will be held on Friday, June 3rd, from 5-7pm.
Many of the artists will be in attendance, so it's a great time to enjoy the exhibit. We'll have a brochure on hand with a map to all the pieces so that you can be sure to see them all! The exhibits will be on display throughout the summer, and then we will have an online auction in September to find new homes for each of the creations. Come pick out your favorites, and then start planning where you'll put them in your own home or garden!
