Joe Gatto, a well-known comedian, actor, and producer, is best known for the hit TV shows "Impractical Jokers" and "The Misery Index." He is one of the founding members of The Tenderloins Comedy Troupe who has toured with a live comedy show to sold-out crowds across the world, including legendary arenas, such as Madison Square Garden in New York and the O2 Arena in London.

Joe also is a co-host of the "Two Cool Moms" Podcast and has also appeared on hit podcasts including This Past Weekend with Theo Von, What A Joke with Papa and Fortune and Life is Short with Justin Long.

A New Spin on Structural Control: Translating Toys into Earthquake Protection
Friday, Feb. 24, 12 PM via Zoom

Rotational inertial mechanisms are a relatively new class of structural control devices that have been inspired by spinning top toys and salad spinners. Professor Nick Wierschem, UT associate professor of civil and environmental engineering, will describe how these devices work and how they are being studied to protect structures from extreme events like earthquakes.

The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required. Once registered, you will receive an email with information about joining the meeting via Zoom.

In Hillbilly, two documentary filmmakers confront stereotypical depictions of Appalachian people and attempt to introduce their audience to a more nuanced, authentic understanding of the region.
