Live at Lucille’s brings the tradition of exciting and innovative PBS music programming right here to East Tennessee. Featuring acclaimed jazz artists performing in an intimate setting, these shows aretaped in front of a live audience at the new, state-of-the-art Regas Square Events space in downtown Knoxville. The shows are later broadcast on PBS stations across the state.

Alto saxophonist Rudresh Mahanthappa began making waves on the international jazz scene in the mid 90's while still living in Chicago. Since moving to New York City in 1997, Mahanthappa's profile has only risen. He has topped the Downbeat Critics Poll nine times, headlined at major festivals around the globe and received a number of prestigious awards including a Guggenheim fellowship. Don't special performance for Live at Lucille's.

The 2025 Art Show of the Art Guild of Tellico Village will take place on April 25, 26 and 27. Presented at the Community Church at Tellico Village in Loudon TN, this acclaimed display showcases more than 250 pieces of art, highlighting the exceptional and varied creativity of Art Guild members.

"Art enthusiasts from all over East Tennessee fiock to this professional-level exhibition, and it is a favorite community event in Tellico Village," says show chairperson and guild president Donna Hart. "The Art Guild is proud of this opportunity to publicly show the abundant talents from its 200+ members."

For over 20 years, this Art Show has showcased a wide variety of subjects, styles and media, in both 2-and 3- dimensional artworks. Watercolor, oil, acrylic, pastel, inks, graphite, colored pencil, scratchboard, photography, gourds, wood carving, jewelry, ceramics, fiber art, sculpture, weavings, fused glass, stained glass, collage and mixed media will featured again this year. Much of the artwork will be for sale.

Throughout the 3-day event, guests are invited to watch demonstrations and learn from "Artists at Work." Many talented Art Guild member artists will be sharing their inspirations, techniques, tips, and materials in various art mediums. The public is invited to vote for the "Peoples' Choice Award." Dr. Carl Gombert, award-winning artist and distinguished art professor at Maryville College, will serve as juror to select three Awards of Excellence, for 2-Dimensional Art, 3-Dimensional Art, and Photography. Jerry's Artarama of Knoxville, which sells an extensive selection of fine art supplies, will award gift certificates to the chosen winners. Visitors will also be treated to a continuous variety of live music each day of the show.

The 2025 Art Show takes place April 25-27, on Friday 10-6, Saturday 10-5, and Sunday 11-4. The public is invited to the Opening Reception on Friday from 4-6pm, when many exhibiting artists will be on site to meet and greet visitors. This remarkable collection, created by artist Daniel Borja Ramirez , spans twelve sections and depicts the rich history and diverse cultures of Indigenous women across North America. The exhibition showcases the evolution of the project, beginning with "Women of the Great Lakes" (2006-2007), which was featured at the National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI) in Washington D.C. Subsequent sections highlight themes such as "One Woman - One Tribe," cultural education, Pueblo traditions, Indigenous presence in all 50 states, Oklahoma tribes, the impact of Route 66, the Lewis and Clark expedition, Indigenous women in leadership, Arizona tribes, and Indigenous women artists. The most recent section focuses on Northeastern tribes. Daniel's work captures the strength, resilience, and artistry of Native American women, preserving their stories and traditions for future generations. Each section offers a unique perspective, showcasing the diversity and complexity of Indigenous cultures. The Sequoyah Birthplace Museum is a fitting venue for this powerful exhibition. The museum is dedicated to preserving and sharing Cherokee history and culture, including the legacy of Sequoyah, who created the Cherokee syllabary. Located in the Great Smoky Mountains on the shores of Tellico Lake, the museum offers a rich cultural experience, including the Cherokee Memorial and proximity to the Tanasi and Chota Memorials.

About the Artist: Daniel Borja Ramirez was born on June 1st, 1953 and is a certified descendant of the Saginaw Chippewa Tribe of Michigan. The National Museum of American Indians in Washington DC featured his work in May and June 2006 where Daniel presented his most current work on the theme “Caring for Our Elders” and he also explains his artistic interpretations about the concept of Matriarchy in Native American Community. Under the sponsorship of the Smithsonian, Daniel undertook the outstanding task of making the World’s Longest Native American Painting.

Emily McTyre is a photographer, filmmaker, and mixed media artist from East Tennessee. Her photography is often inspired by travel, evoking a sense of place for the viewer.

Carol Quinn, Mixed Media
Carol has painted and exhibted since the late 1980’s, mostly in the Southeast. She has also been in exhibitions in
NYC through World Fine Art Gallery, Ariel Gallery, and Abney Gallery. Carol is inspired by nature and the local beauty of her local area, as well as the psychological processes that create this inspiration. She has been a member of Art Market Gallery since 2018. In the last few years Carol has participated in many solo and group shows in the Knoxville area. Carol was educated at the University of Tennessee (BS, MS, and PhD.) in Human Ecology. She began painting in the early 80’s as a watercolorist painting mostly nature, and rapidly moved into various mixed media, larger creations, and more abstraction in design. Her work consists of self-exploration and experimentation with different mediums, and the passion of exploring color and textures.

Patrick Deason, Sculpture
Patrick's art in metal grew out of other interests. His skills are self-taught and many of the tools he uses to shape metal were made by him. Patrick spent a large part of his career on the coastal waters of Georgia and Florida, hence the many marine related pieces. His whimsical works are intended to bring smiles and curiosity. Patrick's studio is in a house in the woods he shares with his wife, two dogs, and a very talkative parrot.
