Knoxville Botanical Garden: Extreme Tree Climbing Workshop

Back by popular demand! Join us for another Extreme Tree Climbing workshop led by Cortese Tree Specialist's Sam Adams. Sam's last workshop at KBGA was featured in the Knoxville News Sentinel in June, and he has also been featured in the Metro Pulse due to the fact that he is Knoxville's only competitive-level recreational tree climbing. Sam will teach you basic ropes techniques for climbing and descending. Make sure to wear comfortable clothing (long pants, gloves, sturdy shoes) and bring a packed lunch plus a camera so you can take photos of the Garden from the top of a tree! Appalachian Hands Showcase and Sale

The 1st annual APPALACHIAN HANDS Holiday Crafts Show will take place this weekend in Kyles Ford, Tennessee. This Showcase and Sale of Contemporary and Traditional Crafts is set for November 20th and 21st 2009, Friday evening from 6pm to 9pm and Saturday from 9am to 4pm. A first time event, this show features a wonderful variety of mountain artisans, offering paintings, silver and beaded jewelry, quilted and needle arts, hats, stained glass, soap, candles, prints and photographs, rudimentary musical instruments, decorated gourds, ornaments, holiday decorations and so much more. The craftspeople participating in the two-day event live in the beautiful hills of Appalachia, creating their unique pieces of art in remote areas, thus this forum allows collectors, shoppers and artisans a unique opportunity to meet. All are welcome to have fun and meet the 18+ talented artisans while buying locally this holiday season.

The show will take place inside the Kyles Ford Auction Co. Gallery at 3718 Kyles Ford Hwy - Route 33 in Kyles Ford, Tennessee. Free admission and door prizes both days.
