Historic Ramsey House: "Skirmish on the Holston" Civil War Living History and Reenactment

History will come to life 150 years after the Great Conflict between the States at the Historic Ramsey House. This Civil War Living History and Reenactment weekend is presented by the Civil War Reenactors of East Tennessee. Recreation of the “Skirmish on the Holston,” which occurred on Feb. 20th 1864 will be held at 2:00 pm each day by Civil War reenactors. During the skirmish, see the cavalry explode from the woods while under cannon fire and battle the infantry. Visitors may stroll through Union and Confederate encampments experiencing the life of a soldier during the Civil War. Tom and Sue Wright as Abraham Lincoln and Mary Todd will perform their “Life of Lincoln” at various times during the weekend. General Lee, his horse Traveler, and Mrs. Lee will be in attendance throughout the weekend. Tennessee Quiltworks will present the fictional character “Hattie” and her life during the Civil War. There will be Civil War period activities for children, Civil War period music and a display of the medical practices of the era. Tours of the Ramsey House will be available for a $5.00 person. A Civil War sutler and food for purchase will be available from vendors. Admission: $5.00 for Adults and Children 13 and up. Children 12 and under free.

Tennessee Stage Company: Radio Daze

In Radio Daze, the Tennessee Stage Company performs a homage to 1930s radio entertainment. Act I incorporates live regional music and a noir detective tale built around an Appalachian ghost story. Act II carries the audience from more live music to a re-creation of two classic episodes of The Shadow.

Tickets (if available) will also be sold at the door the night of the event for $12.

Opening First Friday, May 3, 2 Many Pixels photo gallery is proud to present a collection of photographs by young artist Jake Wheeler. The work (more than 40 large format images) depicts urban decay and the distress of individuals coping with adversity. The images are mounted on reclaimed plywood, emphasizing a sense of deterioration. The photographs are all for sale, gallery archival prints, signed and numbered by the artists.
