Hello Neighbor! Is there anyone who isn’t looking forward to things returning to “normal” when this pandemic is finally over? The effects on our jobs, social life, and neighborhood activities have been devastating, so we are all seeking ways to remain productive, stay safe, and have some fun. With that in mind, Community Television of Knoxville (CTV) is boldly moving forward with our 2021 Neighborhood Treasure Hunt & Online Auction, an almost effortless "COVID-safe" event that will allow you to find some incredible bargains and have loads of fun!

Knoxville Opera continues presenting its KNOX OPERA FOR ALL free First Friday concerts on April 2nd from 5:00 to 7:00 outside the Emporium Building on Gay Street. The program, performed by soprano Jennifer D'Agostino and tenor Wayd Odle, will include popular selections from Broadway, opera, operetta, Disney movies, and Neapolitan songs. Knoxville Opera Artistic Director Brian Salesky will host and accompany the artists. Our New Play Festival is getting a makeover this year! This year’s Festival will be comprised of 5 Virtual readings of new plays, done with Zoom Webinars. Featuring 30+ performers, each performance will be followed by a talkback with the playwright, cast, and crew to help these stories grow. Audience members will be able (and encouraged!) to submit questions through the chat function. Each webinar will be free to attend but will require previous registration. Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition

Since its indoctrination, the art department at Pellissippi State Community College has hosted an annual juried student exhibition. This annual exhibition exemplifies the hard work of both the students and the studio art faculty. During each exhibition, a purchase award (Best of Show) is awarded to a deserving student. That work of art is then placed in a permanent collection at the college. For 2021, the exhibition will be held for the first time virtually.

Any PSCC student from a past or present studio art class in the last two years, are welcome to apply for the exhibition.

The jurors for the exhibition are Professor Jeff Lockett, Associate Professor Caroline Covington, Professor Herb Rieth, and Professor Jennifer Brickey.

The Exhibition will run from April 1 through May 3.

The Ewing Gallery of Art + Architecture is pleased to present the first group of three MFA Thesis Exhibitions. In partial fulfillment of their graduation requirements, students pursuing the Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree are required to mount a solo exhibition of work. These exhibitions take the form of small groups of students presenting concurrent solo exhibitions in the Ewing Gallery.

The Ewing Gallery is open Monday - Friday 10am - 5pm.
