A group of affluent friends gather for a dinner party to celebrate their host’s anniversary. However, things quickly go awry when the host is found unconscious with a gunshot wound, and the guests are left to piece together what happened while trying to keep the situation under wraps. A master of stage comedies, playwright Neil Simon offers a wild ride that is not only entertaining and light-hearted, but also keeps audiences guessing all the way up to the very end.

Knoxville Opera: Giuseppe Verdi’s Falstaff
Knoxville Opera is excited to announce a double celebration of the arts this October. The company will produce Giuseppe Verdi's operatic masterpiece, Falstaff, at the historic Tennessee Theatre.
Falstaff is a comedic gem in the operatic world, and Knoxville Opera is honored to bring this delightful production to the Tennessee Theatre for the first time. Audiences can expect a vibrant mix of melodies, Shakespearean wit, and outstanding vocal performances. This performance will be directed by Dean Anthony and conducted by Jorge Parodi.

Marble Springs State Historic Site: Fall Homeschool Days

Join us on October 13th and 14th for an immersive and educational homeschool tour designed to provide students with a unique field trip experience. Step into the past as they participate in an authentic colonial-period militia drill, gaining a firsthand understanding of early American history. Explore the significance of taverns and currency, and visit the Sevier Cabin to learn about Tennesseean history. Students will also have the opportunity to compare past and modern kitchens and discover the art of spinning, weaving, and natural dyes in the loom house. It's an engaging journey where history and learning merge to create an unforgettable adventure. Students will be separated into three groups of 20 that will experience the tour together. The student tickets are separated ahead of time for those groups. Groups are labeled as A, B, and C. If you are wanting to experience the tour with friends, coordinate accordingly.

This program is meant to allow access to all of Shakespeare's works in a different way or to works that are not done incredibly often. Coming up on Friday, October 13, our Heritage Center members can enjoy one more free show to close out the concert season! Grizzly Goat's music is as the band's name suggests: undomesticated. Grizzly's blend of folk-rock spans the entire breadth of the Americana genre; from soft and sincere campfire ballads to rocking electric harmonica solos on top of pounding drums and flailing banjo.

Friday Night at the Concourse: Bruce Katz Band CD release

Bruce Katz Band will be playing all new music from their "Connections" album and have the CDs at the show for sale as well.
Bruce Katz is a legendary keyboardist (Hammond B3 and piano) who has released 10 CDs as a leader and has appeared on nearly 70 other CDs with the likes of John Hammond, Delbert McClinton, Ronnie Earl, Butch Trucks, Duke Robillard, Little Milton, Joe Louis Walker, David “Fathead” Newman, and many, many others. How 'bout them "connections"?!
He has also had a strong musical connection with the Allman Brothers Band, having been a member of Gregg Allman’s band for six years (2007-2013), Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band (2010-2015), Butch Trucks’s Freight Train Band (2015-2017) and Les Brers. Bruce also occasionally toured with the Allman Brothers as well.
He is a seven-time Blues Music Award (BMA) nominee (2008, 2009, 2010, 2015, 2019, 2020, 2021) for the “Pinetop Perkins Piano Player of the Year” award, which is the equivalent of the “Blues Grammys”. He was also nominated by Living Blues Magazine for “Outstanding Musician (Keyboard)” award in 2015 and 2019. He won the 2019 BMA for “Best Acoustic Album” for “Journeys to the Heart of the Blues”, recorded with Joe Louis Walker and Giles Robson and was nominated for “Acoustic Album” award for “Solo Ride”, his solo piano CD.
The Bruce Katz Band is an original, very exciting group of musicians that combine Blues, “soul-jazz”, and New Orleans inspired roots music. Based in Woodstock, NY, Bruce Katz occupies a unique space where blues and the many aspects of Americana music collide into a style of original music all his own. The band has a trademark sound, blending the B3 organ and guitar in unique and inventive ways.

Join us for the live tapings for Season 2 of Appalachia Sessions now hosted at The Point in Knoxville! Full schedule above.
Presented by The East Tennessee Historical Society (ETHS), “Appalachia Session Live” is a televised music series that debuted last fall. The series showcases music born out of the history of East Tennessee and Appalachian culture and features a diverse line-up of musicians and intimately focuses on the artists, their roots and the fundamentals of songwriting. The shows taped at LMU will be used for the first six episodes of season two. The series will air on WATE (ABC) in Knoxville, WJHL in the Tri-Cities, WWCW (CW) in Roanoke, Virginia and WDKY (Fox) in Lexington, Kentucky. The program will be syndicated nationally beginning in February.
