A group of affluent friends gather for a dinner party to celebrate their host’s anniversary. However, things quickly go awry when the host is found unconscious with a gunshot wound, and the guests are left to piece together what happened while trying to keep the situation under wraps. A master of stage comedies, playwright Neil Simon offers a wild ride that is not only entertaining and light-hearted, but also keeps audiences guessing all the way up to the very end.

Knoxville Opera is excited to announce a double celebration of the arts this October. The company will produce Giuseppe Verdi's operatic masterpiece, Falstaff, at the historic Tennessee Theatre.

Falstaff is a comedic gem in the operatic world, and Knoxville Opera is honored to bring this delightful production to the Tennessee Theatre for the first time. Join us on October 13th and 14th for an immersive and educational homeschool tour designed to provide students with a unique field trip experience. Step into the past as they participate in an authentic colonial-period militia drill, gaining a firsthand understanding of early American history. Explore the significance of taverns and currency, and visit the Sevier Cabin to learn about Tennesseean history. Students will also have the opportunity to compare past and modern kitchens and discover the art of spinning, weaving, and natural dyes in the loom house. It's an engaging journey where history and learning merge to create an unforgettable adventure. Students will be separated into three groups of 20 that will experience the tour together. The student tickets are separated ahead of time for those groups. Groups are labeled as A, B, and C. If you are wanting to experience the tour with friends, coordinate accordingly.

Presented by The East Tennessee Historical Society (ETHS), “Appalachia Session Live” is a televised music series that debuted last fall. The series showcases music born out of the history of East Tennessee and Appalachian culture and features a diverse line-up of musicians and intimately focuses on the artists, their roots and the fundamentals of songwriting. The shows taped at LMU will be used for the first six episodes of season two. The series will air on WATE (ABC) in Knoxville, WJHL in the Tri-Cities, WWCW (CW) in Roanoke, Virginia and WDKY (Fox) in Lexington, Kentucky. The program will be syndicated nationally beginning in February.
