Monroe Area Council for the Arts: The Celtic Tenors

Category: Music

The Celtic Tenors have established themselves as the most successful classical crossover artists to emerge from Ireland. Following an impromptu audition at EMI in London, the Celtic Tenors were signed on the spot to an international record deal, a highly unusual event that was the talk of the music industry. The Celtic Tenors live show is an experience overflowing with vitality and variety from start to finish. The unique voices, charm and wit of Daryl, James and Matthew, combined with talented young Musical Director Colm Rogan, combine an emotive journey with a thoroughly uplifting experience. “Three separately and distinctive classically-trained tenors, who when they come together are a superbly flawless unit. They combine the high standards of operatic singing with a delightfully informal sense of fun.” (The Irish Examiner). www.celtic-tenors.com

While one might imagine Maynard James Keenan would have enough going on to keep him busy as a frontman with the groups Tool and A Perfect Circle , in 2007 he decided to launch a new, more intimate side project: Puscifer. Puscifer is described by Keenan as "the space where my Id, Ego, and Anima all come together to exchange cookie recipes," and what strange recipes those must be. See how it all comes together on the track "Man Overboard," off of his newest record. Now, check him out on the "Conditions of My Parole" Tour coming to the Tennessee Theatre November 29. Tickets on sale this Friday, October 7 at 10 a.m.
