Fountain City Art Center: Fountain City Art Guild Annual Holiday Show and Sale

Opening Reception Friday, Nov. 22, 6:30 - 8:00 PM, everyone welcome
Most of the watercolors, oil paintings, mixed media, and acrylic paintings will be for sale by the artists. Awards will be announced for the show at 7 PM during the reception. The show will be on view free of charge.
Also debuting on Friday night during the reception is the first annual "Fountain City Art Center Holiday Gift Shoppe." Most, but not all, of the items for sale will be between $5 and $20 and have been handmade by FCAC members. All of the items are donated for this fund raising event to help with Art Center operating expenses, especially tough winter weather heating bills. All proceeds go directly to benefit the Center

Knox Heritage: Workshop: Partners for Sacred Places

Jubilee Community Arts: Four Leaf Peat

Irish Music
Born out of Irish traditional music in pub sessions, Four Leaf Peat brings together musicians from various backgrounds. The band is influenced by Ireland’s traditional pipers, fiddlers and singers; they owe a debt to innovators of the music such as the Bothy Band, Planxty, Dervish, Lunasa, and Danu. Four Leaf Peat is Chad Beauchaine on Fiddle; Gil Draper on guitar, bouzouki and mandolin; Rick Hall on hammer dulcimer, bones and bodhran; and Jason Herrera on vocals, bodhran, flute and whistle. Whether it’s lively jigs and reels, slow airs, or songs, the spirit that gave birth to Irish traditional music can be felt in every set.
Tickets, if available, will be for sale at the door for $12.

The Arts Center in Athens: Holiday Trunk Show

The Arts Center in Athens, TN is pleased to announce the HOLIDAY TRUNK SHOW, a 3-day indoor show and sale of fine art, crafts, and handmade gifts from local and regional artisans. The Holiday Trunk Show begins Thursday November 21st with a preview party and ends on Saturday November 23rd. The event is sponsored by Athens Federal Community Bank.
The Holiday Trunk Show is a one-of-a-kind shopping opportunity for the holidays, featuring something for everyone’s gift-giving budget. Among the featured items are accessories for home & holiday, original art and prints, jewelry, pottery, baskets, art gourds, glass, scented soaps and body care products, hand woven and knitted scarves and shawls, hand painted silk garments, handmade ornaments, handbags, books, candles, and more. The event begins Thursday, November 21st at the Preview Party from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Admission is $5 or a donation of recently purchased non-perishable food items for the Coordinated Charities of Athens food bank. The Preview Party, hosted by AACA volunteers, features early shopping, refreshments, door prizes provided by the artists, and entertainment by guitarist Oneta Wright. Tickets for Thursday’s Preview Party are available at The Arts Center or at the door. Other shopping hours are admission-free on Friday, November 22nd 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM, and Saturday, November 23rd, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
A “Twilight Shopping Spectacular”, sponsored by the Athens Downtown Business Association, will take place Friday evening, November 22nd from 5:00 PM– 8:00 PM. The stores of the downtown business district will be open late so visitors may see and shop their holiday selections. During that time, The Arts Center will host “Pictures with Santa” from 5:30 – 7:30 PM along with the Holiday Trunk Show. The photo package includes one 5 x 7 and 4 wallet size photos for $10.00. Children of all ages are invited to come and have their picture taken with Santa. The photo packages will be available for pick-up beginning 10:00 AM on Monday, December 2.
