Artsclamation!

  • November 6, 2015 — November 7, 2015

Category: Exhibitions, visual art, Fine Crafts, Free event and Fundraisers

Artsclamation! is a juried fine art sale featuring professional regional artists in all mediums. This year’s event is located in a wonderful new venue, the Lighthouse Knoxville at 6800 Baum Drive, with lake views and opportunities for artists to display outside! The event begins on the evening of Friday, November 6, with an invitation-only gala preview party offering sumptuous hors d'oeuvres coupled with wine, spirits and eager collectors. The 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. sale on Saturday, November 7 is free and open to the public.

2015 Featured Artist - Kate McCullough - Watercolors
Kate began painting in watercolor about 11 years ago after a 35 year hiatus from art. Initially her studies at Villa Marie College and SUNY College at Buffalo included general design, art history and oil and acrylic painting. When she returned to painting Kate decided that watercolor was a medium she would like to explore. She immediately fell in love with it and has not looked back. A Knoxville resident, Kate teaches watercolor classes at the Fountain City Art Center and is a former president of the Knoxville Watercolor Society. She is a member of the Art Market Gallery in downtown Knoxville, Tennessee Watercolor Society and Fountain City Art Guild. “There is so much freedom in being able to create. The world of painting is a magical place where the looking glass is only limited by my imagination,” says Kate. “The goal for my art is to not only reach that deeper place but to offer something to the viewer that could reach a place in them that has meaning as well.”

The Fine art sale with 30+ artists offers paintings, sculpture, fiber art, jewelry, woodworking and more!

Artsclamation! is the primary fundraiser for Peninsula, a community-owned, not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing mental health care to children, adolescents, and adults in East Tennessee. In addition to event sponsorships and preview party ticket sales, a percentage of all artists’ sales will go directly to Peninsula.

November 5 – 15: 8:00 pm Thursday – Saturday, 3:00 pm Sunday matinees

Sam & Bella Spewack’s classic comedy, My Three Angels, as part of the 7th Timeless Works Series Production

The Tennessee Stage Company, known to Knoxville audiences for Shakespeare On The Square and the New Play Festival returns to our Timeless Works series this autumn with the Sam & Bella Spewack’s classic comedy, My Three Angels. This (almost) gentle comedy is the story of a three desperate, but unconventional, criminals who provide a loving, but struggling family with a most happy and unexpected Christmas. My Three Angels is a collaboration with the Historic Southern Railway Station newly renovated and now being operated as an event space by the Blueslip Winery. This beautiful structure makes a perfect backdrop for the simplicity and whimsy of our Timeless Works productions. Timeless Works was conceived by the Stage Company as a benefit series to help raise funds for our other programs, Shakespeare On The Square, the New Play Festival and our Education and Outreach programs. All the artists donate their time and talents and all funds raised go directly back into the work of the Company.

Tickets ($15) may be purchased through our online booking system at http://tennesseestage.com/home/events, by phone at (865) 546-4280, or at the door the night of the show. At the Historic Southern Railway Station, 300 West Depot Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37917.

It’s the end of everything in contemporary America. A future without power! What will survive? In post-apocalyptic Northern California, a group of strangers bond by recreating an episode of “The Simpsons.” From this meeting, memories of Marge and Homer become the basis for shaping a new society as the play travels decades into the future.
