Oak Ridge Playhouse: A Christmas Story - The Musical
Category: Theatre
Based on the movie classic, the musical follows 9-year-old Ralphie and his quest for the Holy Grail of Christmas gifts—an Official Red Ryder carbine-action air rifle. Set in the 1940s Midwest, Ralphie plots numerous schemes to fulfill his desire for the cov-eted BB gun only to be constantly rebuffed with echoes of “You’ll shoot your eye out!” With tongues stuck to frozen flagpoles; Christmas at the Chinese restaurant; and the “major award,” all the iconic scenes from the film are here, along with exciting new treats for both long-time fans of the film as well as those encountering this delightful coming of age tale for the first time.

Bijou Theatre: Shakey Graves: Die Hard Tour
Category: Music
Texan singer-songwriter Alessandro Rose-Garcia first rose to prominence in the indie scene as Shakey Graves in 2011. His genre-bending sound consists of blues, country, and rock ‘n’ roll influences all wrapped up into a single, endearingly lo-fi package. Since his debut, Shakey Graves has become a steady facet of the grassroots Americana industry. Much like his hapless-seeming guitar and makeshift bass drum, Graves has become an almost surprise success given the looks of his odds, but now that he’s here, he’s established himself as an innovator for the industry at large, and we're excited for him to takeover the US Cellular Stage this November!
