East Tennessee's own WDVX and the Museum of Appalachia are teaming up to produce and present the "Clinch River Breakdown" live radio show on Friday, December 6th at 7:00pm. The show will be held at the Museum of Appalachia and feature a performance from Ketch Secor of Grammy award-winning Old Crow Medicine Show and International Bluegrass Music Association winner Molly Tuttle.
Tuttle is a phenomenal 26-year-old multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and vocalist, who is rapidly becoming a sought-after headlining artist. Secor, also a multi-instrumentalist, is the front man in Old Crow Medicine Show, one of the most successful and celebrated bluegrass and old-time bands in recent memory. The two are collaborating on a brief tour, which includes this debut live radio show.
The "Clinch River Breakdown" is a live radio show broadcast and webcast on WDVX at 89.9, 102.9 and 93.9 in East Tennessee, and can be heard live at www.wdvx.com. The host of the "Clinch River Breakdown" is longtime Bluegrass artist Steve Gulley, and alongside him will be The Museum of Appalachia Band leader and storyteller John Alvis. WDVX and the Museum of Appalachia hope to sustain and produce this show on a monthly basis, beginning in early 2020.
WDVX General Manager Tony Lawson says "We are very excited to work with the Museum of Appalachia to produce a live radio show that is very reflective of both organization’s missions.” Museum of Appalachia President Elaine Meyer said, “WDVX is a longtime friend, neighbor and supporter of the Museum of Appalachia, and we are thrilled to partner with them on this radio show.”
