Printshop Beer Co: Explore Knox Bike Ride

Join us Saturdays at 10:45 for our weekly slow ride through different Knoxville neighborhoods as we explore our city via bike. Although distances and routes vary, most rides last for 60-75 minutes (4-8 miles) and potentially include a stop at various landmarks, sites of interest, and even other breweries!
Please note that rides will be cancelled in the event of inclement weather to ensure the safety and comfort of all participants.

Sustainable Future Center: Container Planting On A Budget

Get Creative! No container is too eccentric! Examples of fun containers to bring:
• Plastic milk crates
• Boots
• Pallets
• Drawers
• Teapots & big bowls
• Bird cage
• Garbage can
• Most anything works!
Please bring 20 - 40 lbs of planting soil for your planter(s). We will supply plants, seeds, woodchips and fertilizer (chicken poop). We will be practicing social distancing and masks are optional. Only 10 spots available so please register at info@sfcknox.org at least 24 hours prior. We will also have the class on Zoom. (check back for the link)
Historic Ramsey House: 18th Century Pocket Workshop

Join Kelley Weatherley-Sinclair, Executive Director of Historic Ramsey House and owner of Lady’s Made Historical Clothing, to make your very own 18th century pocket!
In the 18th century, women’s pockets were usually worn under petticoats (skirts) and accessed though slits in the side seams. Great for hiding and carrying multiple items, this is a must have for any 18th century wardrobe. Whether you are interested in creating a pocket for your 18th century ensemble, or you want to sew something unusual… all are welcome!
These large pockets will measure approximately 16″ long x 11″ wide with a 70″ twill tape to tie around your waist. Multiple color options will be available. All sewing will be done by hand. All sewing skill levels are welcome!
Tickets: $20 (includes instruction and all supplies) or $15 for Historic Ramsey House members.

Knoxville Arts & Fine Crafts Center: Handbuilding Workshop - Critter Bell

In this handbuilding class students will use slab construction and sculpture to create a bell inspired by their favorite woodland critter, perfect for hanging in the garden or on a deck, patio, or porch! This 3-hour class will allow students to make the bell and paint it with underglaze. Cortney will be present to help with all of the steps in this process. All bells will be fired, glazed and assembled after class and then students will be notified when they are ready to pick up. All materials are included in the cost of this class.

YWCA Knoxville: 21-Day Racial Equity and Social Justice Challenge

The challenge is designed to create dedicated time and space to build more effective social justice habits, particularly those dealing with issues of race, power, privilege, and leadership.
You will be presented with challenges such as reading an article, listening to a podcast, reflecting on personal experience and more. Participation in an activity like this helps us to discover how racial injustice and social injustice impact our community, to connect with one another, and to identify ways to dismantle racism and other forms of discrimination. This is an exciting opportunity to dive deep into racial equity and social justice. We hope you will join us on this journey and we can’t wait to get started!
Originally developed by Dr. Eddie Moore, Jr. and Debby Irving, this 21-Day Challenge has been adapted by organizations across the country. It is designed to create dedicated time and space to build more effective social justice habits, particularly those dealing with issues of race, power, privilege, and leadership.

Knoxville Children's Theatre: Peter Rabbit

Peter is famous as the clever and daring rabbit who succeeds in invading mean Farmer McGregor’s cabbage patch, in spite of traps, scarecrows and other dangers. His sisters Flopsy and Mopsy, their friend Squirrel Nutkin and Cawdy the Crow all share his adventures in this charming, and endearing dramatization.
The play will be performed Thursdays and Fridays at 7 PM; Saturdays at 1 PM and 5 PM; and Sundays at 3 PM.

The Arts & Culture Alliance of Greater Knoxville and the Metropolitan Knoxville Airport Authority (McGhee Tyson Airport) present a semi-annual exhibition entitled “Arts in the Airport”. This juried exhibition was developed to allow regional artists to compete and display work in the most visited site in the area. The selected art features contemporary 2- and 3-dimensional artwork and is exhibited in the secured area behind McGhee Tyson Airport’s security gate checkpoint for six months at a time. Approximately 35-40 works comprise each exhibition. Work is normally available for viewing only by visitors flying in or out of the airport.

Meet our June Featured Artist, Annie Rochelle!
She is a born and raised Knoxvillian and currently lives in South Knoxville with her husband and sweet cat named “Kitty.”
Annie attended Maryland Institute College of Art where she earned her BFA in Painting with a minor in Art History and Curatorial Studies concentration.
“A lot of my compositions with the human figure reference Renaissance, Baroque and Rococo works from art history. Recently I have been interested in scientific botanical illustrations and translating the Victorian model of the ‘Language of Flowers’ into a modern and more relevant vernacular.”
One of Annie's favorite things to do is plant flowers or vegetables with a glass of wine while watching her husband grill dinner.
Fun Fact: She won 1st place in our Dolly Art Contest last year and 2nd place this year!

"I create art through photographic imagery. Inspiration comes from the natural world, specifically colors and patterns. Much of my work starts out as pictures of rocks, minerals, and fossils. I seek a different viewpoint, and many of the images are abstractions, and open to viewer interpretation".
On exhibition Downtown from June 8 to July 7 and at the West location from July 8 to August 7.
