The Market Square Farmers’ Market is a open-air farmers’ market located on Market Square in the heart of downtown Knoxville. Everything at the MSFM is grown or made by the vendor in the East Tennessee region. Products vary by the seasons and include produce, eggs, honey, herbs, free-range meat, bread, baked goods, salsas, coffee and artisan crafts.

The 2010-2011 News Sentinel Pops season will conclude with the smooth jazzy sounds of trumpeter Chris Botti. Since the release of his 2004 critically acclaimed CD When I Fall In Love, Botti has become the largest selling American jazz instrumental artist. His success has crossed over to audiences usually reserved for pop music and his ongoing association with PBS has led to four #1 Jazz Albums, as well as multiple Gold, Platinum & Grammy Awards.

The 11th Annual South Knoxville Art and Heritage Festival
Kicks off at 11 am with a "Free to Moms Mothers Day Brunch" Catered by Latitude 35 (free to mother's while supplies last) with music by Wendel Werner. Bring your Mom and stay the day to enjoy a tour of the Candoro Building with its history exhibits and art exhibit. Two stages of music all day plus an open mic. With a style best described as a mixture of folk and bluegrass, Jay Clark's handcrafted lyrics run the gamut of hard living, hard drinking, civil disobedience, and old-time religion. As the son of a Cumberland Presbyterian minister from Winchester, Tennessee, Clark's devout religious upbringing is apparent in his songwriting.
Jeff Barbra, along with his wife, Sarah Pirkle, were the hosts and producers of the popular WDVX Behind The Barn radio program for almost five years. Jeff's latest release is Country Music For Country People.

The Laurel Theater is located on the corner of 16th and Laurel Avenue in the historic Fort Sanders neighborhood of Knoxville near the UT campus.

Throughout the day, children and their families will have a chance to learn about life in early Knoxville through demonstrations and interactive activities. Local artisans, including basket weavers, quilters, and cooks, will showcase their trades. Additional highlights of the day include a story-telling session and dulcimer performance.
If the weather cooperates, families will also be able to bring picnic lunches to eat on the grounds.
Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for children (children under 3 are free). Families of four or five may purchase a family pass for $25.

Blount Mansion was the home of William Blount, a signer of the Constitution for North Carolina, governor of the Southwest Territory, and one of Tennessee’s first Senators. Blount Mansion is the only National Historic Landmark in Knoxville, Tennessee.

The Appalachian Arts Craft Center in Norris will hold its annual Plant Sale at the center. Wildflowers, bushes, ferns, herbs and other plants will be available. This is a great way to get locally hardy plants at a reasonable price.
