Guests are invited to wear their very best pink outfits and visit Crescent Bend to see the 25,000 tulips that will be in full bloom. The Meandering Path Garden, which has been planted with thousands of various shades of Pink tulips, will serve as the backdrop for this Sunday afternoon annual event as Crescent Bend raises funds for Breast Cancer research and awareness education.

For 2012, Random Acts of Flowers has partnered with Crescent Bend to help support breast cancer awareness. This unique installation by Random Acts of Flowers is made possible through the support of Care Institute Group, a nonprofit charitable corporation, which has donated more than 4,500 tulips and hyacinths that have been planted in the shape of a large pink ribbon on the hillside of the Meandering Path Garden overlooking the Tennessee River.

Admission is free of charge; however Crescent Bend is asking all guests who attend this event to make “meaningful monetary gift” and all contributions will be donated to the Knoxville Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Each attendee of the event will receive either an “In Honor of” or an “In Memory of” marker that can be personalized and placed among the pink tulips in the garden. Barbershop Quartet performances by Smokyland Chorus will occur throughout the day. The Riverroom at Crescent Bend will be transformed into a “Pretty-n-Pink Boutique” where guests may shop for items from local boutiques and a wide variety of hats, suitable for Easter, a Kentucky Derby Day event or other such type of spring or summer social gathering. Docents will give guided tours of the house museum and light refreshments and Door Prizes will be given away. Guests should be sure to bring their cameras for it will be a great day to take Easter Pictures with the kids.

With this silent-era spectacle, Cecil B. DeMille cemented his reputation as the master of the biblical epic. DeMille tells the story of Christ's life and Passion with great attention to historical accuracy, along the way paying homage to the religious illustrations of Da Vinci and Doré, and, in a modern flourish, restaging Christ's resurrection in luminous Technicolor. Proving to be “a true friend and a good writer,” Charlotte, a clever and extraordinary spider, sets out to save the Zuckerman family’s irresistible young pig, Wilbur, from the butcher. Spring at the Fountain City Art Center kicks off with a reception open to the public, Friday, March 30, 6:30 – 8:00 PM. The reception marks the beginning of the Annual Fountain City Art Guild Spring Show and Sale. The show will be judged by Harriet Howell. Awards will be given out at 7:00 PM.

This show will be on exhibit through April 27, as always no admission fee for the viewing public. Also on exhibit through April 27, artwork by students from the Halls area!

UT Gallery of Art and Architecture presents the MFA thesis exhibitions of Eleanor Aldrich, Leslie Grossman and Chadwick Williams from March 30 - April 6, 2012. There will be an opening reception on Sunday April 1, 2012, 3pm-6pm.

In partial fulfillment of their graduation requirements, students pursuing the Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree are required to mount a solo exhibition of work, and to defend their work during an oral examination in front of a faculty committee. Due to the number of graduate students enrolled in the UT Department of Art, these exhibitions generally take the form of small groups of students presenting concurrent solo exhibitions in the gallery space.
