Tennessee Stage Company: Shakespeare Out Loud featuring Cymbeline

5070.jpg

Category: Free event, Literature, spoken word, writing and Theatre

The Tennessee Stage Company presents Shakespeare Out Loud featuring Cymbeline at the Lawson McGhee Library, 2:00 pm Saturday, August 11, 2012.

The Tennessee Stage Company and Shakespeare On The Square invite you to read Shakespeare’s plays with us – out loud!
Our August reading (next Saturday, the 11th) is Cymbaline one of the late plays that are classified as Romances since they don’t fit neatly into any category.

Readings are at the Lawson McGee Library on the second Saturday of each month. Readings are free and open to the public. Hearing these plays read aloud offers much more insight into the depths of Shakespeare’s work.

We will meet at 2:00 pm. There will be twelve chairs set up and whoever wants to read out loud can choose one of the twelve chairs. There will be additional seating for anyone who wants to read along silently. We will take a fifteen minute break in the middle of each play. Some copies of the play will be available but please bring your own if possible.
We welcome all voices, all dialects. We read the plays for the joy of reading them and to hear and discover more about the plays that have not yet been performed by Shakespeare On The Square. Maybe one of these is the one we should perform next!

EVERYONE IS WELCOME--IT’S FREE AND FUN!
