Flying Anvil Theatre: Forbidden Knoxville Goes Psycho

The best of local humor returns in Forbidden Knoxville Goes Psycho - a musical satire of all things Knoxvegas. Flying Anvil Theatre presents this no-holds-barred cabaret skewering the foibles and follies of naughty local newsmakers and politicians using songs from Carly Rae Jepsen to Elvis to Broadway.
Stacey Campfield? Check. UT Frat boys' unusual drinking habits? Check.TVA, local news casts, wine in grocery stores? They're all covered.
The show is produced by Flying Anvil Theatre's Executive Director Staci Swedeen and musical directed by Christopher Hamblin. Rounding out the cast are Dana Wham, Krisha Newport, Jim Richardson and Bill Howard.
Forbidden Knoxville Goes Psycho runs Friday and Saturday, April 12 and 13, Friday April 19 and Friday and Saturday, April 26 and 27. All shows are at 10 PM. Tickets are $15 at the door. Knoxville Museum of Art: Alive After Five

Features the Rhythm & Blues, soul, and funk of Soulfinger, performing songs made famous by Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, B. B. King, James Brown, and more. This seven-member band is led by charismatic vocalist and keyboard/harmonica player, Tim Spencer, and features a sharp horn section along with guitar, bass, and drums.
Alive After Five is a unique live music series presented on thirty or more Fridays per year in four seasonal series. The programs take place in the smoke-free, casually elegant setting of the Great Hall in the Knoxville Museum of Art. There is a live band on stage, seating at tables, two cash bars, food from area restaurants, free freshly popped popcorn, free parking, and a licensed therapeutic masseuse available. Audience members can enjoy listening to music, dancing, and browsing the museum’s art galleries. Admission to the spring series premier of Alive After Five is $10 for general admission and $6 for museum members and college students with ID. Ages 17 and under are admitted free.

Harriman's Princess Theatre Open House

In September 1926, the Princess Theatre opened its doors in Downtown Harriman. Eighty-seven years later, the Theatre has been fully restored and is the centerpiece of the Princess Performing Arts, Education, and Conference Center. On Friday, April 12, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., the East Tennessee Preservation Alliance (ETPA) and Roane State Community College will host an open house, recital, and panel discussion about the restoration project. The FREE event will take place at Princess Theatre Complex at 421 Roane Street in Downtown Harriman.
There will be an open house from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. with light refreshments. At 6:30 p.m., sophomore students from Roane State Community College will perform their spring recital. The Princess Theatre is operated by Roane State Community College, so this is a special opportunity to experience these students perform at the Princess.
Immediately following the performance, there will be a panel discussion about the Theatre’s restoration. After the panel discussion, “behind the scenes†tours will be given of the Theatre.
