Category: Festivals, special events and Fundraisers

The Knoxville office of the Sterling Cooper advertising agency is the setting for an evening of merriment and music—Mad Men style. Have a Don Draper Martini or a Sterling Cooper Old Fashioned before dipping into a classic 1960’s buffet at the offices of Barber McMurry Architects in the Arnstein Building. This seven-story Neoclassical building with Renaissance Revival detailing is said to be the first steel frame “skyscraper” built in Knoxville—the city’s tallest when it was built in 1905 by German-Jewish immigrant Max Arnstein (1858–1961). It was designed by the prominent New York City architectural firm, Cleverdon & Putzel, best known for the Astor Building and many Victorian-era commercial and residential buildings in Manhattan. Period and theme-based attire is encouraged. 90 guests, $100.00 per person. Location: Downtown, 505 Market Square Suite 300.

Knox Heritage’s popular series of fundraising dinners, Summer Suppers, takes place annually in some of the region’s most spectacular historic places. The suppers are organized by host committees of volunteers who work together to plan every detail.
