Category: Classes, workshops
Setting Is More Than Just A Place, October 19, 2019, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm.
When we think of setting, we usually think of a geographical place. Setting is a great deal more than that. It’s a myriad of elements, and we will work through many of these components. In this generative workshop we will learn from writers such as Joan Didion, write in response to prompts, read our work aloud, and listen to feedback from other attendees. Bring your writing tools for a supportive workshop.
Melanie Haws is a Knoxville native and eighth generation East Tennessean, as well as an avid lifelong writer and reader. She recently received her MFA in writing from Spalding University. Her fiction has appeared in The Louisville Review, Still: The Journal, and the anthology Unbroken Circle: Stories of Cultural Diversity in the South.
