Tennessee Theater: Summer Movie Magic - Casablanca

Category: Film and Kids, family

Summer Movie Magic presented by Denark Construction is a long-standing tradition celebrating our legacy as a movie palace. Moviegoers will travel back in time and see these classics, as they should be: in a historic theater originally built as a movie palace surrounded by other movie-lovers, enjoying some popcorn and a cold drink. This year, we are pulling out all the stops with a lineup of blockbuster hits! And true to tradition, hear the Mighty Wurlitzer organ fill the auditorium with magnificent music prior to the movie. Experience some of your favorite classics on the big screen!

June 25, 8 PM and June 27, 3 PM: Casablanca
Rick Blaine (Humphrey Bogart), who owns a nightclub in Casablanca, discovers his old flame Ilsa (Ingrid Bergman) is in town with her husband, Victor Laszlo (Paul Henreid). Laszlo is a famed rebel, and with Germans on his tail, Ilsa knows Rick can help them get out of the country. (Rotten Tomatoes) This film is 1 hr 42 mins and is rated PG.

About Grizzly Goat: Grizzly Goat's music is as the band's name suggests, undomesticated. Grizzly's blend of folk-rock spans the entire breadth of the Americana genre; from soft and sincere campfire ballads to rocking electric harmonica solos on top of pounding drums and flailing banjo. The band is hardworking and tireless. They’ve brought their rootsy compositions from coast to coast in their white passenger van. Whether at a festival or a small scale BBQ joint, Grizzly Goat's aim is to connect with their audience on an individual level, building a relationship with each listener. Specifically, the band has supported acts such as Greensky Bluegrass, Jim Avett, River Whyless, Town Mountain, Jamestown Revival, and Brett Dennen, along with playing at such festivals as the John Hartford Memorial Fest, Treefort Music Festival, Mayesfest, Forest Fest, Decatur BBQ Blues and Bluegrass Fest, Zion Canyon Music Fest, and the kick-off for the Cold Mountain Music Festival.

Category: Dance, movement, Festivals, special events and Music

SILENT DISCO IS BACK!
FRIDAY, JUNE 25TH AT CENTRAL FILLING STATION

We've waited a very long time for this day. Silent Disco is back, babayy!
We want to do our part to encourage everyone to get their Covid vaccine by doing what we do best… throwing a big ol’ party!
Knox county is currently just below the national average for vaccination rate, and we want to thank everyone who’s already gotten their arms poked and give everyone else a little added incentive to go ahead and make that appointment.
So bring your vax card (or a copy of it) and let’s have a blast belting out songs off-key among friends like we used to. It's going down Friday, June 25th at Central Filling Station, the perfect place to do this outdoors with plenty of open space to spread out if you choose.
For questions about this event, please email info@bornandraisedknox.com

Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 the day of, and they might not last, so hop on it!
