Gallery 1010 is a contemporary art exhibition space located at 100 S. Gay Street in Suite 114 of the Emporium Center of downtown Knoxville, Tennessee. As one of three University of Tennessee School of Art galleries, Gallery 1010 is the only fully student-run, non-profit, off-campus exhibition space in the state of Tennessee. The mission of Gallery 1010 is to provide space for the School of Art students of the University of Tennessee to experiment and develop new ideas while gaining educational gallery experience in professional standards and practices.

Tri-Star Arts is pleased to present the next exhibition in their Golden Chain Gallery project space located at the historic Candoro Marble Building. Stairfall by Adam Rowe (Knoxville, TN) opens Tuesday, October 29, 2024 and will run through Wednesday, January 29, 2025. This show is located within the unique architectural space of a narrow wooden stairwell. An opening reception will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm (artist in attendance). End your week with gentle yoga at the McClung Museum. Enjoy breathing, relaxing movements, and stretching, with some calm, meditative moments to ease you into your Friday. We encourage you to wear comfortable clothes that you can move in and bring a yoga mat. Forgot your mat or don't have one? No problem! The museum has a limited supply of mats to loan. No experience is necessary.

About the Instructor: Megan Fields just celebrated her 20th anniversary at UT and currently serves as the Director of Public Speaking. She also lives on campus as a sorority house director and enjoys supporting students. In her free time, she teaches yoga and meditation and enjoys reading and hiking. Her life goal is to share mindfulness practices to stay grounded in this fast-paced, distracted culture.

Knoxville Classical Guitar: Gaëlle Solal

Category: Music

Gaëlle Solal, born into a music-loving family, discovered classical guitar at five and began formal studies at the Marseille Conservatoire a year later. By sixteen, she was attending the Paris Conservatoire, fulfilling her childhood dream of becoming a dancer and musician. She graduated three years later with honors and pursued further studies at the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne while competing internationally. In 1998, she became the first female French musician to win the City of Alessandria Competition, among twelve other national and international prizes.
