A1LabArts: Fall Members Exhibition: The Ugly Art Show
Category: Exhibitions, visual art and Free event
On First Friday, October 3, 2014, A1 LabArts presents “The Ugly Art Show.” The exhibition will be open from 6-10 PM at The Center for Creative Minds, 23 Emory Place, in Knoxville. A closing show with an awards ceremony will be held on October 18 at the same location from 7-9 pm.
This eclectic exhibition includes the works of many A1LabArts members, each of whom will present their interpretation of the "ugly." In light of the fact that recent art movements have challenged canonical aesthetic categories, including the concept of “the beautiful,” viewers to this exhibition may discover in depictions of the “ugly” a new form of artistic beauty.
