Tennessee Stage Company: New Play Festival 3-staged readings

We are producing three staged readings, which will also be followed by a discussion session with actors, audience, director and playwrights. These staged readings will each have one performance in March:

A Cocaine Comedy by Harrison Young – Richard tries cocaine for the first time moments before two desperate policemen kick down his door. The hijinks quickly escalate as the local news, governor of Texas, and a very special couch lead Richard’s petty crime to making national headlines.

Timed 5k at 8:00 am. Event starts at noon

Fundraiser benefits East Tennessee Children's Hospital
Rockabye Butterfly raises funds for babies born dependent on drugs (neonatal abstinence syndrome). All proceeds benefit East Tennessee Children's Hospital. We will start the day with a 5k walk/run that will be officially timed. Our event starts at noon. We will have live entertainment, kids krazyland, and end the day with a butterfly release. Kids krazyland consists of face painting, inflatables, games, arts, crafts, and much much more. Come out and join us for a fun filled day! Tickets available at www.RockabyeButterfly.org. General admission is free, but kids krazyland requires a ticket.

2015 Lucky Kidney Run 6K/2K Walk

The Lucky Kidney Run, benefiting the East Tennessee Kidney Foundation (ETKF) is being held Saturday, March 14th, beginning at 9:00 a.m.

It is a fun and family-oriented fundraising event that calls attention to the prevention and detection of, and education about, kidney disease, dialysis and the need for organ donation, all while promoting health and wellness in our region.

A 6K running course and 2K walking course will be offered, starting at Krutch Park Extension & running down Gay Street to Historic 4th & Gill neighborhood.

Union County Arts Council: portrait demonstration by Seth Haverkamp

The Union County Arts Council is sponsoring a portrait demonstration by Seth Haverkamp, a nationally known portrait artist who lives in Andersonville. The demonstration will be held on Saturday, March 14, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Union County Veterans Building on Veterans Street in Maynardville.
