The race is part of the Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month takes place in the United States every May. It celebrates the culture, traditions, and history of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders throughout United States.

The mission of the Asian Culture Center of TN is to invest in the Greater Knoxville Community and East Tennessee and promote cultural diversity by bringing families together to experience the richness and beauty of a diverse culture. Thus, this 5K race strives to bring together people from various cultural backgrounds to promote peace, harmony, unity and a healthy lifestyle.

Ewing Gallery: BFA Capstone Exhibitions Online

The capstone course is a requirement for all BFA Studio Art majors. Students take capstone in the final semester of their BFA degree. During the capstone semester students engage in a self-initiated research project to demonstrate that a graduating senior has learned and can practice the skills and concepts of a chosen concentration.

In order to complete the MFA program, all graduate students are required to present an exhibition or other public presentation of their work during the semester of graduation. Unfortunately, due to the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the class of 2020 was unable to have public exhibitions of their work. Central Cinema: Film screenings

Central Cinema is a community moviehouse located in the heart of North Knoxville's Happy Holler neighborhood, offering a schedule of films, series and special events seven nights a week.

Every weekend we present a selection of classic films and/or first-run independents. This standard programming is complemented during the week by special film & arts events of all sorts.

Central Cinema's single auditorium features digital projection and 88 seats. At the end of the adjoining gallery hallway is our concessions lounge, featuring both inside seating and a deck for good times & discussion before and after film screenings.

Central Cinema offers a popcorn, candy, nachos, bottled soft drinks and a selection of canned beers & ciders... all priced well below what you're used to paying at the concession stand.
