Tennessee Stage Company: A Tennessee Williams Weekend

The entire weekend will be chock full of activities presenting a broad range of Tennessee Williams’ material, both theatrical and non-theatrical, in various locations.
Fri., Nov. 11: Three one-act plays, The Lady Of Larkspur Lotion; Lord Byron’s Love Letter; Talk to Me like the Rain and Let Me Listen, at Remedy Coffee Shop, 125 W. Jackson Ave., 8:00 p.m., All tickets $12.00 available at the door or by phone, (865) 546-4280.

Sat., Nov. 12: A reading of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof at Lawson McGhee Library, 500 W. Church St., 2:00 p.m., Admission free.

Sun., Nov. 13: Two on-site readings from Tennessee Williams’ non-theatrical material – excerpts from prose, fiction, non-fiction, poems and letters. All admission is free.

4:00 p.m., Old Grey Cemetery, 543 N. Broadway. The site where many of Williams’ family members are buried.

Bearden High School Musical Theater: Pippin

Bearden High School’s musical theater department presents Pippin, Nov. 10 - 13. This will be the 15th show under BHS’s musical theater teacher, Leann Dickson.
“Pippin is coming-of-age story about the heir to the throne of Charlemagne,” says Dickson. “It follows the life of the young prince, as he searches for meaning and significance in the world. The Leading Player and troupe of actors lead the audience through Pippin’s life journey.”
Music and lyrics from Pippin are by Stephen Schwartz, who also composed Wicked and Godspell.

Show times for Pippin are at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 10 and Nov. 12 and 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 13. Tickets are on sale at the school during the week of the show, or can be purchased at the door. Prices are $10 for adults and $8 for students.

Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center: Military Appreciation Days

Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center will host Military Appreciation Days at the Center in Townsend. Active members of the military, veterans, and immediate family members with military I.D. will receive free admission to the Center on these dates. Admission includes the movie “Peace of Ground” and self-guided tours of two galleries and 12 historic outbuildings. Of special note this year are the Proffitt’s Exhibit, located in the main gallery, and an exhibition from the Tennessee State Museum, Common People in Uncommon Times: The Civil War in Tennessee, on display in the Transportation Gallery.
