Bike Walk Knoxville: Open Streets Knoxville
Category: Festivals, special events, Free event and Kids, family
Bike Walk Knoxville is the host of Open Streets Knoxville. Open Streets Knoxville is an event that brings together community groups and local businesses, giving people of all ages and abilities the opportunity to walk, ride bikes, hula hoop, and much more - all in a setting that is fun and safe! More than a street festival, Open Streets Knoxville gives residents an opportunity to explore their neighborhood and local businesses in a safe, fun, and family-friendly way. Participants can enjoy being physically active and visiting local businesses by foot or on bike. The event encourages the use of active transportation and healthy living, and has a goal of giving residents an opportunity to rethink our streets as public space.
Our goal is to host two events each year, with different neighborhood partners. At least a one mile route on Knoxville streets is closed to traffic. Each event typically averages 5,000 people. Bike Walk Knoxville has in kind support from the City of Knoxville and funding from a Knoxville Community Agency Grant, as well as other community sponsors that help defray the substantial costs of twice yearly Open Streets Knoxville events. For more information, please visit the Open Streets Knoxville website, openstreetsknoxville.com.
The next Open Streets Knoxville event will be Sunday, October 29th in South Knoxville! Join in the fun as we close the Gay St. Bridge and Council Pl. to Sevier Ave., wrapping around to Suttree Landing Park! http://openstreetsknoxville.com/

On the 29th I'll be officially releasing The Owl and The Flamingo at The Central Collective. I'll play through both EP's probably and I'll sign everyone's lower back if they want with my autograph.
$5 admission. If you Kickstarted the birds, then you just should come and not pay $5. I'll have a list. I'm very excited to be releasing my nerdy little literary music project in what is essentially my version of Cheers- the Central Collective.
I'm also so stoked to introduce you to Graham Marema (an incredible songwriter with imaginative melodies and charming depth. laugh, cry, etc.) and the deeply profound poetry of Taria Person, the Realest Person.
Artwork by my good friend Jody Collins, the Feral Giant.

This exciting drama about the Puritan purge of witchcraft in old Salem continues KCT’s fall tradition of producing Halloween-themed literary classics for children and families. “The Crucible” is one of the most-produced plays by high schools across the country. The play is performed by 15 talented young actors, from ages 12 to 17.
