Knoxville's FIRST Expungement Clinic
Category: Classes, workshops
Knoxville's FIRST Expungement Clinic that is open to the general public will be held on October 28th from 9am to 12pm at the Beck Cultural Exchange Center.
Many people are not aware that often in Tennessee when a criminal charge is dismissed, it may still appear on their public record until it is expunged (or erased) from the public record. The presence of the charge can lead to loss of employment or inability to secure new employment. Expunging a dismissed criminal charge can thus make a significant difference in someone’s life.
If you or someone you know wants to see if they are eligible for an expungement of their Knox County General Sessions Court or Knoxville Municipal Court dismissed criminal charge, then call 865-975-6775 to Pre-Register with the UT Expungement Clinic Hotline.
General Sessions Judge Charles Cerny and Municipal Court Judge John Rosson, Jr. will be present for this expungement clinic.
October 28, 2017, 9:00 a.m. - 12 Noon,
PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED at (865)975-6775.
Beck Cultural Exchange Center, 1927 Dandridge Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37915.
The Expungement Clinic is a partnership between Knoxville Community Step Up, The Beck Cultural Center, The University of Tennessee College of Law, and Vet2Vet TN with volunteers from the Tennessee Faith and Justice Alliance, the Knoxville Bar Association, the Knoxville Barristers (the Young Lawyers Division of the KBA), Legal Aid of East of Tennessee, and the Knox County Public Defender’s Community Law Office.
