Welcome to the magical world of Cinderella, coming to the Knoxville Civic Auditorium this Spring! An enchanting story for all ages with a wonderful dose of humor, majesty of classical ballet and the promise of "happily ever after".
A part of the World Ballet Series, Cinderella is performed live by a multinational cast of 40 professional ballet dancers gathered to bring the most celebrated fairy tale to life.
A visually stunning production accompanied by Sergei Prokofiev's passionate celebrated score, over 150 hand-sewn radiant costumes, richly detailed hand-crafted sets and sparkling choreography by Marina Kessler.
And don't forget - when the clock strikes midnight...

Ijams Nature Center: World Pinhole Camera Day

Join The Big Camera at Ijams Nature Center on April 30 starting at 10am for an informative workshop to learn how to make your own Pinhole Camera, shoot and develop multiple photos, and learn what you need to keep creating at home! You'll learn how a Pinhole Camera is really just a tiny version of the Big Camera trailer, and you'll step inside the big camera obscura to develop your prints.
This workshop is for teens 13 years old and up. Each person attending does have to pre-register for the workshop. Tickets are $75 each and you will take home your camera at the end of the day. Ijams and A1LabArts Members get a $15 discount to this workshop (membership is verified before workshop date.)

Knoxville Opera: The Marriage of Figaro
Knoxville Opera is proud to present a production of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's classic opera, The Marriage of Figaro, on April 28 & 30 at the Bijou Theatre in Downtown Knoxville. This production features an all-star cast of world-class opera singers and musicians, led by the first ever female conductor at Knoxville Opera, Laurie Rogers, and directed by Eve Summer.
The cast includes baritone Nicholas Davis in the role of Figaro, soprano Flora Hawk as Susanna, bass-baritone Richard Ollarsaba as Count Almaviva, and soprano Bizhou Chang as Countess Almaviva. The supporting cast includes Zizhao Wang as Bartolo, Lisa Chavez as Marcellina, Jason Ferrante as Basilio/Curzio, Eliza Bonet as Cherubino, Teyah Young as Barbarina, and Jacob Lay as Antonio.
The Marriage of Figaro is a comic opera that tells the story of Figaro, a servant preparing to marry his fiancée Susanna, and the complications that arise when Count Almaviva tries to seduce her. The production promises to be a delightful blend of comedy, romance, and vocal virtuosity, set against the beautiful backdrop of the Bijou Theatre.
Performances will take place on Friday, April 28 at 7:30pm and Sunday, April 30 at 2:30pm.

Art Guild of Tellico Village: Art Show

The Art Guild of Tellico Village's annual show will be held on April 28, 29 & 30, 2023.
Fri 10-6 (opening reception 4-6 PM), Sat 10-5, Sun 10-4.
Presented at the Community Church at Tellico Village in Loudon TN, this acclaimed display showcases more than 250 pieces of art, highlighting the exceptional and varied talents of Art Guild members.
The Art Show offers a wide variety of subjects, styles and media, in both 2- and 3- dimensional works. Watercolor, oil, acrylic, pastel, inks, graphite, colored pencil, scratchboard, photography, gourds, wood carving, jewelry, ceramics, fiber art, sculpture, weavings, fused glass, stained glass, collage and mixed media will be featured. Much of the artwork will be for sale. Throughout the 3-day Art Show guests are invited to watch and learn from “Artists at Work.” Over a dozen member artists will demonstrate various media while sharing their inspirations, techniques, tips, materials and more. The public is also invited to vote for Peoples’ Choice Awards, to be announced at the end of the show. Jerry’s Artarama of Knoxville, which sells an extensive selection of fine art supplies, will be awarding a total of $500 in gift certificates to the chosen winners.
Visitors will be treated to live music each day of the show. Food trucks will be on site each day of the show. On Friday, Noodles North will be serving from 11am to 6pm. On Saturday and Sunday, Blazing Flames will be on site from 10am to 4pm, and they have added muffins and biscuits to their menu choices for Art Show visitors.

Dogwood Arts: Dogwood Arts Festival

Established in 1961, the Dogwood Arts Festival is one of the most celebrated cultural events in Knoxville! The festival is held at World’s Fair Park in Knoxville, TN and features over 100 fine art vendors, live music, entertainment, children's activities, food & beverage vendors, and more.
100 Artists will be selected by an internal jury to participate this year! The Dogwood Arts staff, Festival Committee, and community volunteers are committed to ensuring the quality and diversity of artwork showcased at the festival while providing participating artists an ideal setting to engage with potential patrons. Established and emerging artists working in all mediums are invited to apply.
The festival is produced by Dogwood Arts, a (501c3) organization that promotes and celebrates the art, culture, and natural beauty of East Tennessee. We have a 67-year history of arts advocacy, environmental stewardship, and economic impact in East Tennessee. The Festival is one of 20+ year-round programs and events that help make Knoxville a great place to live, work, and play!
