TCB Shows and R&M Tribute Entertainment present Country and the King Show featuring Elvis Presley/Johnny Cash/Merle Haggard/Waylon Jennings/George Strait/Jerry Lee/Willie Nelson/Conway Twitty.

The show will feature Terry Turner as Jerry Lee Lewis, Willie Nelson & Conway Twitty. Ronnie Miller will perform as Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings and George Strait. In addition, Terry Turner will perform a ’70 era stage style tribute to the King of Rock n Roll-“Elvis Presley and Ronnie Miller will perform an Elvis gospel tribute.”

The entertainment will be held at High Places Community Church – The Grove Theater located at 123 Randolph Street, Oak Ridge, Tennessee on Friday, April 11, 2014 at 7:00 PM. Admission is $15.00 per person. A portion of the show proceeds will be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Cultural Attractions Committee: California Celts!

The Cultural Attractions Committee and Central Program Council are proud to present California Celts! Friday, April 11, 2014 in University Center Auditorium at 7:00PM. The California Celts music draws from the worldwide catalog of Celtic, Nautical and Island music. Their style can hold a crowd, young and old. Their music reflects this in subtle tones of Reggae, Bluegrass, Mexicano and Rock. The California Celts are a unique group of minstrels that pay homage to the Scotch-Irish musical thread and its journey from the Old World to The Americas and beyond. Hear the Appalachian influence as it seamlessly weaves its way to the California songs of the 49ers. The California Celts are a one of a kind experience.

Powered by indie record label Invisible Mass, the California Celts are the Armitage brothers from the hills of Yucca Valley in the Mojave Desert, CA. From Riverside on guitar, melodica and vocals is Miguelangelo La Marque Casares a.k.a. “Pirate Mike”. Navy Corpsman “Navy Davy” Macias plays guitar. Brad Pitt’s cousin Tommy Cooper is on trumpet and stage table dancing. On Celtic harp is Patty Hood. She is a performing and recording member of the 80′s pop band from Australia, The Church. UT School of Art: 2014 Graphic Design Open House

The Graphic Design area at the University of Tennessee School of Art will host an open house to provide prospective students, area educators and the university community an opportunity to learn about the program in depth. Beginning at 4:30, and occurring along the 3rd floor of the Art + Architecture Building, the evening is open for browsing during the entire three hours in order to: view work of current students in the program, visit the undergraduate studio, tour the facilities, watch the outcome of the 2014 sophomore motion design workshop with Scripps Networks, speak with faculty, current students and alumni, read about alumni success, and learn more about the curriculum and process for entering the School of Art. Cirque Du Soleil Presents Varekai in Knoxville

Cirque du Soleil is pleased to announce that its newest arena show, Varekai, will perform in Knoxville at Thompson-Boling Arena from April 9-13, 2014 for seven performances only. After 11 years of touring the world under the blue and yellow Big Top, Varekai will begin a new adventure this coming December!

The word Varekai (pronounced ver·ay·’kie) means “wherever” in the Romany language of the gypsies the universal wanderers. Directed by Dominic Champagne, this production pays tribute to the nomadic soul, to the spirit and art of the circus tradition, and to those who quest with infinite passion along the path that leads to Varekai.

From a group of 20 street performers at its beginnings in 1984, Cirque du Soleil is a major Québec-based organization providing high-quality artistic entertainment. The company has 5,000 employees, including more than 1,300 artists from more than 50 different countries.

The Arts at Pellissippi State: Unnecessary Farce

Pellissippi State Community College presents “Unnecessary Farce,” the new classic American farce, the first two weekends of April. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for seniors and students. Tickets are available at www.pstcc.edu/tickets.

“Unnecessary Farce” is the tale of a police sting gone awry after a bumbling mayor, a pair of lusty civil servants and an incomprehensible Scottish hit man are thrown together. “I guarantee this will be the funniest play you see this year,” said Charles R. Miller, Theatre program coordinator and Liberal Arts professor.

“Unnecessary Farce” is one of the events that make up The Arts at Pellissippi State. The series brings to the community cultural activities ranging from music and theatre to international celebrations, lectures, and the fine arts.

Bliss Home is pleased to present Knoxville artist, Jane Nickels, for April's First Friday. Bliss Home, located at 29 Market Square, will host an opening reception on Friday, April 4th from 6pm to 9pm. Jane's April exhibit will feature her Knot Perfect series which consists of paintings that explore a biomorphic interpretation of Celtic knots and overlapping pattern, color and line demanding an emotional response.

“Finally Spring” at the Plateau Arts Center
That is the theme for the annual spring show at the PCAC, and it couldn’t come at a better time! The Art Guild at Fairfield Glade invites you to view and vote on your favorite selection among the new works displayed for the first time at the Plateau Creative Arts Center (PCAC).

Come and view this high quality art presented in watercolor, acrylic, oil, pastels, colored pencil, photography, mixed media, pottery, sculpture, jewelry, and fabric. The theme of “Finally Spring” will be displayed starting on April 4. Voting will end on April 18. Ribbons will be awarded to the winners in the categories of People and Animals, Landscape, Floral, Still life, Sculpture and Mixed Media, and Showcase/Jewelry. Ribbon Awards will take place on Friday morning, April 25.
