KCT Academy Director Dennis E. Perkins will direct the play.
Auditions are by appointment only. Auditioners may choose from the following appointment times: 4:30 PM, 5:00 PM, 5:30 PM, 6:00 PM, 6:30 PM, 7:00 PM, and 7:30 PM. Seven auditioners will be seen at each appointment time; a maximum of 49 auditioners will be seen.

There are four or more roles for actors seeking to make their KCT debuts.
Disney’s Aladdin tells a centuries-old tale of a street urchin who becomes a great Prince. All of your favorite characters from the hit Disney film - Aladdin, Jasmine, Iago, Jafar, the Genie, and more - are in the play, a musical adventure filled with magic, mayhem, and flying carpet rides.
Auditioners should prepare 8 to 12 bars of a song. Each auditioner should bring sheet music for the live accompanist. No “a cappella” auditions (auditions without accompaniment) will be heard. Songs will be evaluated on pitch, strength of volume, tone, clearness of diction, depth of emotional expression, and ability to act while singing. Songs from musical theatre are highly preferred.
Auditioners should also prepare a SHORT one-minute monologue from a play or novel. The monologue should express realistic emotion and a theatrical level of expression. Choose an appropriate monologue. No songs or poems. Monologues will be evaluated on volume, clearness of diction, depth of emotional expression, and ability of physical transformation.
To make an audition appointment or inquire for more information: Send an email to Dennis Perkins at dennis@childrenstheatreknoxville.com. No calls for appointments, please.
Include your name, your age, your gender, and which appointment time you prefer. Due to time restrictions, auditioners without an appointment will not be seen. E-mail submissions only for audition info.

The District Gallery: Vision of Home: Recent Works by Kathie Odom
Category: Exhibitions, visual art and Free event
Artist Reception – Friday, April 11, 5:30-9 p.m.
We are pleased to present this show as a Dogwood Arts Featured Art Exhibit. Kathie Odom leaves the anatomy of her paintings exposed and allows light to diffuse translucently from the first wash to the thicker oils, showing different textures, birthing life. Subtle detailing coupled with loose brush strokes invite the viewer beneath into an aliveness not so apparent on the surface. Almost exclusively Kathie’s compositions are places where the possibility of life exists: barn, nest, field, dwelling, bud, shed…the vision of Home.
The District Gallery, 5113 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919. Hours: Mon-Fri 10-5:30, Sat 10-4. Information: 865-200-4452, www.TheDistrictGallery.com
