Pet Photo Contest with Young-Williams Animal Center
Pet lovers join us at Vol Landing for a fun Instagram pet photo contest as part of Bike Boat Brew & Bark! Tag your photos with #knoxfido on Saturday, June 4th and Sunday, June 5th while you and your pet ‘Bestie’ are out and about at the event! The two photos with the most ‘likes’ will win pooch prize packs from @citifido! Young-Williams Animal Center will be at Vol Landing from 9-12pm that Saturday with props, snapping pictures for the contest and keeping your furry friends safe, hydrated, and cool. The contest begins at 9am on Saturday the 4th, photos need to be submitted by 11pm on Sunday, June 5th, and ‘likes’ will be tallied within the week. Urban Hike with TVA
TVA will be leading a new Urban Hike from Downtown to Island Home Park on Saturday, June 4th! Meet the TVA hiking guides at 10am at the TVA Towers North on Wall Avenue next to Market Square and enjoy a beautiful, scenic hike over the river and to the park! Learn how easy it is to go from the center of our great city into our lush wilderness! The hike is approximately a mile and a half one way, mostly flat, and will end at Island Home Park where those without a pet can catch KAT* Bus 40 for a ride back downtown. Should hikers want to bring along their furry companions, the roundtrip hike will be 3 miles. If you are feeling extra frisky, guides can take you the extra mile to and from Ijams!! Join TVA and hike our city, our riverside and our parks as part of Bike Boat Brew & Bark!

Ingress Mission Day
Ingress is a location-based augmented reality exergame consisting of capturing ‘portals’ at places of cultural significance. Gameplay relies heavily on the players/teams physically moving throughout the community in order to interact with these portals to complete each mission. This is very exciting for Knoxville to have been chosen as Ingress Mission Days are played across the globe. The mission day will begin at 9am and end by 9pm on Saturday, June 4th. Knoxville Area Brewers Association wants to showoff just a handful of Knoxville’s great breweries! Representatives from Balter Beerworks, Alliance Brewing Company, Last Days of Autumn Brewery, Crafty Bastard Brewery and Saw Works Brewery will be meeting riders at the balloons at Vol Landing at set times to lead them in a relaxed, slow bike ride to their respective breweries. Join a bike guide from Downtown YMCA on Saturday June 4th at to travel from downtown, through World’s Fair Park, then onto the greenway to Vol Landing and back! The easy ride will begin at 10am at the Downtown YMCA and end at Vol Landing. Enjoy downtown biking and finish up at Vol Landing where you can watch a race, watch some dock dog jumping and see some fly boarding tricks!

Hosted by Union County Arts. Art On Main is our 5th annual Art In The Park Festival focused around Historic Main Street and Union County Arts Center located on Historic Thunder Road To Rebels Trail. This is a celebration of the artisans in Union County and surrounding areas, featuring all day entertainment, fine art, local talent and concessions. Blount County Library: Make It Move with Muse

Sports and science will combine to make a great program for kids at the Blount County Public Library. “Make it Move with Muse” will be presented by Evelyn Napier, Outreach Coordinator with MUSE of Knoxville on Saturday, June 4, at 10:30 a.m.
“Kids love sports and this action-packed, sports-themed program will get them interested in science as well,” says Napier. “With the instructor as the referee, students will use a variety of sports equipment to learn about gravity, friction, force and Newton’s Three Laws of Motion.”
Muse’s Outreach Education Team delivers interactive standards-based curriculum in science and engineering. Located in Chilhowee Park in Knoxville, TN, and open to the general public as well as groups, the Muse’s mission is to inspire and empower generations at the intersection of science and art.
Open to the public, this program is hosted by the Blount County Public Library, located at 508 N. Cusick Street, Maryville, where services are an example of your tax dollars at work for you. This 21 and over, can’t-miss music event will take place at the foothills of the gorgeous Smoky Mountains and will showcase and celebrate bands that are led and co-led by women. Knoxville Jazz Orchestra Presents Tenor Saxophonist Greg Tardy

Tenor saxophonist Greg Tardy will make a rare, local appearance as leader this coming Saturday, June 4th at the Red Piano Lounge at 9pm. Tardy will perform many of his original compositions with a band that includes myself, both Keith Brown's (piano and drums) and bassist Jon Steele.
