Performances are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 8:00 PM and Sunday at 3:00 PM. Tickets are $10 plus fees for Thursday & Sunday performances and $15 plus fees for Friday & Saturday performances. Theatre Knoxville Downtown has open seating. Doors open 30 minutes prior to showtime. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to pick up your tickets and claim your seats. TKD reserves the right to seat walk-in patrons during the final 15 minutes prior to showtime. Jubilee Community Arts: Malcolm Holcombe

Born and raised in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, Malcolm Holcombe is recognized as a performer of national stature, a guitarist/vocalist about whom Rolling Stone magazine says: “Haunted country, acoustic blues and rugged folk all meet [here]...†His newest release Down the River follows the success of Gamblin’ Man, Wager and Not Forgotten.
Tickets (if available) will also be sold at the door the night of the event for $12.

Knoxville Museum of Art: Alive After Five

Alive After Five is a unique live music series presented on thirty or more Fridays per year in four seasonal series. The programs take place in the smoke-free, casually elegant setting of the Great Hall in the Knoxville Museum of Art. There is a live band on stage, seating at tables, two cash bars, food from area restaurants, free freshly popped popcorn, free parking, and a licensed therapeutic masseuse available. Audience members can enjoy listening to music, dancing, and browsing the museum’s art galleries.

The two-act, 18-song musical production is the story of three yokels from Paris, Texas including Billy Bob, Billy Joe and Billy Billee who happen to have big-time operatic voices. An enterprising Colonel discovers the boys and guides them on the search for the perfect venue – from rasslin' matches to Medieval Times to a Masonic Lodge to a livestock show, and more – all the way to the big-time destination of Carnegie Hall.
The performance will be February 22, 2013 at 8pm.
Adult tickets are $25-$35. Seniors and students are $20-$30. Group rates are available.

(All ages) Join us every Friday in February for family fun with backyard birding. These programs will start at 4 p.m. every Friday, and will focus on identifying birds and learning how to attract them to your backyard. We'll spend most of our time outdoors, visiting the feeders around the park and taking some time to see who's visiting for a bite to eat! There is no fee for this program. Feel free to bring binoculars and field guides if you have them.
John McCutcheon Concert at the Grove Theater, Oak Ridge

John McCutcheon's spellbinding performances feature guitar, banjo,
hammer dulcimer, piano, fiddle, and autoharp. He is an engaging
songwriter, virtuosic instrumentalist, and charismatic storyteller. The
Port Fairy Press calls him "the most overwhelming folk performer in the
English language." John's latest album is This Land: Woody Guthrie's
America; guest musicians include Willie Nelson and Tom Paxton.
McCutcheon's performance at the Grove is a fundraiser for wheelchair
access at the Children's Museum of Oak Ridge, as well as a tribute to
the Museum's late director Selma Shapiro. McCutcheon and Shapiro were
longtime admirers of each other's work.

Clarence Brown Theatre: A Raisin in the Sun

The first play to portray African American characters, themes, and conflicts in a natural and realistic manner on Broadway, A Raisin in the Sun received the New York Drama Critics’ Circle Award for Best Play of the Year. Playwright Lorraine Hansberry was the youngest playwright, the fifth woman, and the first African American writer to win the award. Recently widowed, Lena Younger receives a life insurance check and plans to buy a house, freeing her family from the cramped tenement she shares with her two children, daughter-in-law and grandson in Chicago’s south side. Her son, Walter, has other ideas for the money. In the struggle that ensures one dream will be fulfilled, another deferred. Will the family collapse or will they seize this opportunity to create a better life?

Clarence Brown Theatre: "A Raisin in the Sun"

The Inspiring Classic “A Raisin in the Sun†shines on the Clarence Brown Theatre Mainstage, February 21 - March 10.
The Clarence Brown Theatre will bring to life Lorraine Hansberry’s inspiring classic story about a working class African American family struggling to make it in 1950s America February 21 – March 10, 2013 on the main stage. Directed by African American theatre icon, Woodie King, Jr., the production will feature actors Lonette McKee and Jaymes Jorsling in the lead roles.
“A Raisin in the Sun†was nominated for four Tony awards when it opened on Broadway in 1959, and hailed by “The New York Times†as a show that “changed American theater forever.†It was the first time in history that a production had an all-black principal cast, a black director and a black playwright. Its 29-year-old author became the youngest American and the first black playwright to win the New York Drama Critics’ Best play of the Year award.
