Category: Music

Wednesday, February 13, 8 p.m.

Rising from the dingy, college bars of upstate New York, moe. carved a niche for themselves with a distinct blend of Americana, melodic turns, clever songwriting, and jam band ethics. After two decades of headlining festivals and releasing dozens of albums, the band has never lost sight of the goals that set from their very first show: to deliver honest, heartfelt music and ensure the audience has a great time. Tickets to their Wednesday, February 13 performance go on sale Friday, December 7.

Category: Free event and Lecture, panel

The Arts & Culture Alliance is pleased to announce a monthly series featuring artists showcasing their work and discussing their inspirations and processes. The next presentation takes place on Wednesday, February 13, from 12:00-1:00 PM with photographer Dennis Sabo. Sabo honed his creative and compositional skills early in a photography career that initially kept him underwater more often than he was topside. His presentation will highlight some of his award-winning underwater imagery from exotic locales from around the world, and where appropriate, he will illustrate how certain compositional and lighting techniques used underwater can be applied to great abstract and scenic photography.

The series, entitled “Time Well Spent: Inspiration at Lunch”, is free and open to the public, and guests are invited to bring a “Brown Bag” lunch. The interactive presentations will begin at 12:00 PM at the Emporium Center, 100 S. Gay Street, in downtown Knoxville. Parking is available at metered spots on the Gay Street viaduct or in the parking lot on Jackson Avenue caddy-corner from the Emporium.
