Little Big Town: The Tornado Tour
Kacey Musgraves
Little Big Town is a country vocal quartet comprised of Kimberly Schlapman, Karen Fairchild, Jimi Westbrook and Phillip Sweet. After forming in the late 1990s, first as a duo, then as a trio, until finally becoming the superstar quartet they are now. Little Big Town steadily honed their craft for years by performing, recording and writing. Their dedication and perseverance paid off when their 2005 album, The Road to Here, was certified platinum, and they received the first of four consecutive (and counting) nominations for the Country Music Association’s Vocal Group of the Year. Riding that wave of success the group recently released their most recent critically acclaimed album, Tornado.

The Lovelies of John Alan Maxwell
23 February 2013, 7:00PM
U.S. Cellular Stage at the Bijou Theatre, Knoxville TN
Knoxville filmmaker Douglas Stuart McDaniel premieres his debut feature film, The Lovelies of John Alan Maxwell. With a cast of more than 30 local actors and scenes shot in five states, don't miss this story of a young man discovering the bohemian world of 1930s Greenwich Village and the life of his eccentric great uncle, the illustrator John Alan Maxwell, an East Tennesseean who befriended the poet Kahlil Gibran at the famous Tenth Street studio and illustrated for Steinbeck, Hemingway, and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. In 1948, Esquire magazine compared Maxwell to William
Faulkner and Thomas Wolfe as one of the many talents of the Modern South. McDaniel successfully blends mystery, romance, and a unique parallel narrative with documentary elements to share this immensely personal journey spanning more than 25 years. With special guest Salome Cabaret, offering a liberal and modern interpretation of burlesque and vaudeville. The film contains some adult language, themes, and brief nudity.
