Town of Farragut: Inaugural Photography Show

Tennessee Medieval Faire Auditions**

Darkhorse Entertainment, LLC, invites you to participate in the 6th Tennessee Medieval Faire in Harriman. The festival is seeking professional performers, costumed street characters, and period-related vendors to recreate the High Middle Ages (circa 1000-1300) in a theatrical way. The theme is “Live the Age of Chivalry,” performed by interactive characters from the legend of Robin Hood.

Professional comedy, dance, and acoustic musical stage acts are encouraged to audition by February 22 by emailing performance details and video link(s) to DarkhorseLLC@comcast.net.

For those interested in participating as street characters, open auditions will be held on Saturdays, February 8, 15, and 22, from 2-5pm, at 150 Culton Lane, Kingston, TN. New auditioners are asked to bring a recent printed selfie. All should come prepared to demonstrate their outdoor performance talents, such as singing, juggling, playing an instrument, telling a story, speaking with a European accent, and participating in theatre games as directed. Agile adults are preferred, but mature and talented minors will also be considered. Having theatrical experience and an outgoing and friendly disposition are helpful.

The Tennessee Medieval Faire is an outdoor themed entertainment-oriented interactive family-friendly festival. Dates are May 23-24-25, 30-31; June 6-7, 2020. Hours are 11am-6pm ET. Now in its second year, Take Action! Big and Small Ways to Save the Planet is a four-week conservation series that focuses on the many different ways you can have a positive impact on the planet. Classes, workshops and other activities will show you how to conserve natural resources and reduce your carbon footprint. Cleanup events and volunteer workdays will help you care for the place we all call home. This year’s lineup is going to be fun!

Awaken Coffee: Exhibition by Peyton Tolleson

She works primarily with acrylic paint and enjoys the challenge of painting reflective and translucent subjects with bold contrasts and bright colors. C for Courtside: Infinity / Infinity / Perfect Vision

C for Courtside is pleased to present a two person show featuring the work of Taylor Baldwin and Serra Victoria Bothwell Fels, curated by Eleanor Aldrich

The show opens Friday, February 7th at 7:00pm, and is free and open to the public.

Taylor Baldwin is a contemporary American sculptor, who also uses installation and video. He explores the space between visual legibility and cognition in his multi-media works. Taylor is on faculty at the Rhode Island School of Design.

Serra Victoria Bothwell Fels is a native of Knoxville and a contemporary site-specific sculptor who disrupts and transforms existing architectural spaces. Her work creates mystery in mundane or known spaces, questioning the border between the physical and imagined. Her solo show Beauty Surplus is on view at the Kohler Arts Center through May 2020.

Tennessee Stage Company: New Play Festival

The 2020 New Play Festival includes three table readings, two staged readings and two full productions.

The table readings will occur between February 1, and March 1. Each reading will include a discussion session afterwards with the cast, director and audience – and when possible - the playwright. The plays in this group are: Goodbye Cruel World - a dark comedy; Christmas Reunion - a dramady; and X’s And O’s - a sci-fi.

The two staged readings will be followed by a discussion session with actors, audience, director and playwrights. The stage readings will each have one performance in February: A Graveyard in Madrid - a twisted tale; and A House For Mandy - a drama.

The full productions are Raft by Harrison Young and Carolyn Thomas directed by Ashley Freitag which will be produced February 7 – 23 and Amazing Graces by Lea McMahan which will be produced at The Southern Railway Station March 12 – 24. This is being directed by Allison Crye.
